I found out doba is a Fraud company, Makes you fool.

I saw an advertisement on Google and on eBay about Doba; it says that Doba is a great whole seller, low price bla bla... then I sign up for a 1 week free trial period. I got call after 1 days later from Doba sales person, he asked me would like to join for long time membership you will get this much discount bla bla. I said yes I would love to but let me think. He is forcing me continuously, keep hang me on the phone and try to convince me finally, I said ok. We agreed on yearly $360 and extra 3 months.
So, here is the great fraud part:-
1. He didn't mention me that after I become a member of Doba I can't cancel membership and they don’t refund my money.
2. He says that you will charge after your trial period.
3. I was think that ok let me try my trial period and if I like I go through if I don't like I will cancel it.
4. I tried 2 days continuously, to find a better price on Doba but I couldn't do it. Not even close to that, I was totally crackdown, frustrated angry.
5. I called them on 5th day of my trial period; I was totally shocked to hear that I can't cancel the membership and they don’t refund my money. Where is the 7 days trial period? Just lie, make people full around?
6. I was not even enrolled for a monthly charge? My trial period not even finished yet how come I can’t cancel my membership?
7. Oh you can cancel your membership for next year but we can’t refund your money now, he told me that. I said I don’t want to be your member just gives my money back. He told me that that is his company policy. I said oh your company policy is to tie up people forcefully even they don’t want to be a member of your company. What about the trial period?
8. He said that you already sign up for a year membership so we can’t do anything about that. I told him do you think I sign up in Doba to spend money for no reason, I there to look for something where I can do business.
9. Either that person stayed silence or try to convince me. Telling me that oh how did you finished your research with in 2 days we have a thousands of items. It seems like you just cancel your membership and wants refund.
10. So surprisingly he pull out some unknown brand perfume and told me that look this is selling on eBay this price this seller selling you on this price you can do this. When I look at on eBay people are selling on the half of that price what he is showing me.

11. Finally he said that Madam, I can't do anything to you just finished your membership until 15 months and for next year you can cancel. What the hell this people think? After 2 hour conversation I felt headache and my mouth was dry and I have to say thank you and your great help and hang up the phone.
12. Please people who are trying to do business through Doba there is RED FLAG. I beg you don't buy their membership, this people just there to rip you off. They just want your money. They are extremely rude on chat on phone I really hate it.

You CANNOT make money with Doba on eBay PERIOD.

I am a powerseller. I know what I'm talking about.

What items are 'for sale' for on ebay are not what they 'sell for'

Look at Doba's sales pitch carefully. They don't use completed listing, they use current listings. IF you look at the completed listings on eBay for Doba products they never sell for the prices they are listed for.

I signed up for a free trial. The trial wasn't long enough to post items for sale, sell an item, order it, etc. before the one week trial expired. A rep from Doba called at the end of the trial period. They knocked a large percentage of the cost off, and offered several extra months. It came out to about $7 a month. Not bad.

Ebay had a $0.10 posting special. Cool. I could post 1000 auctions for just $50. I selected electronics, bedding, lawn furniture (beginning of the summer), and assorted other items. I marked everything up 10 percent, figuring I'd make my money back if I just sold $200 worth of merchandise. Altogether, I listed $143,000 worth of merchandise. I sold one down comforter for $79, so I lost about $43 in posting fees.

Not much later, a 5 cent posting special on ebay. I selected 2000 items totals $256000. I sold one speaker for $220. My posting costs were about $50. My profit on the sale was about $22, for a lost of about $28.

I searched ebay and found that the items I was offering for sale, others were offering the exact items at 25 cent or 50 cent (not percent) markup. Were they hoping to sell 100 items to make $50? Every item is posted was available on ebay for less than I was selling it for.

Further research and I found that many of the major brand electronics products (Nintendo systems, Sony MP3 players, etc.) were marked at wholesale by Doba as higher than the manufacturer's suggested retail price!

Personally, I'm not going to work that hard to make pennies on each sale. My time is more valuable. I ended up buying some items through Doba for my personal use, so it wasn't a complete waste, but there are better ways to make a living.

Beware of the offers that say you can make 30 to 50 percent markup or more. The reality is that this isn't going to happen. Beware of those that say with the proper education and research, you will be successful. When you are not, they will simply say you didn't have the proper education and research, and don't be surprised that they can sell your the learning programs and research tool for a discounted price.

Find something you enjoy doing. Find someone else who is successful at doing what you want to do. Emulate and learn from them. That's were your success will some from...

Good luck!

After reading all these comments, I am beginning to the see reality of this sort of business nature. Doba is just one of the bigger affiliate marketing sites that are infesting the web amongst thousands of sites like that. It's all about the slick enticement and false claims and promises.

I own my little business of finding manufacturers oversea myself and import them or customize my own products so that it is unique and can be sold at the wholesale level via different online channels. For years I have been looking into affiliate businesses and drop ship wholesale schemes, and let me tell you, most of them are simply scams with short time of making a quick profit off you.

Please don't fall for Doba.

P.S. Also I was scammed off by this company called Charge.com. They have advertised real cheap upfront online credit card processing. But after subscribing to their service, they started charging my all kinds of hidden fees and every month the charge seemed to change(since it was a direct withdrawal from my biz bank account), I couldn't dispute with the charge with the bank because of that. It took me several months of calling to cancel, and the cancellation fee was like $300 bucks. If you are looking for online credit card processing, please don't buy from Charge.com!!!

I've been using doba for a couple months, dont think I have made my investment back yet. Sold on product for a $60 profit and get to dobas site and see that they have $100 dollar shipping charge for something that could be shipped for $25.

Doba or not I would like to bitch about another problem and that problem is EBAY. If I could make a steady 25 % profit well ebay gets around 10 to 12% percent of that paypal another 3% and If you dont prepay doba they get another 3% so thats a total of 18% in fees THATS if your the cheapest on ebay and can get the sale.

Ebay has turned into a big fat greedy pig and we all may need to look at other options, because with that kind of greed it only a matter of time until ebay crashes and burns. Good Riddance.

Sorry one last blurb if I made 2% off of a billion dollars in sale every day I would be very happy---not Ebay.

Thanks everyone for posting the DOBA goods. You saved me near half a grand... they are way too slick, fast and with a little homework you can dispel the money magic.. there is none. All you re seller wanna be's (myself included) pick something new on the market (niche it) and flog the hell out of it.. don't go through third parties that promise to make life easy... everything is HARD WORK. But thanks for posting here and you have made my day.

I would steer clear of Inventorysource.com -- this service is terrible. I signed up for their inventory automation service and they hosed up my entire website. Support is terrible--plan to wait at least 24-48 hours to get in touch with someone, calls go right to voicemail. All support is off-shore. This company literally caused thousands of dollars of damage to my store due to the programming I'll have to get done.

I tried Doba's 7 day free trial and just browsed the site & cat. comparing prices to see if a profit can be made. The cold hard fact is: You Can't Profit From Doba. For example: Wii Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game- my "wholesale" price via Doba $42 they state I can resell this for $70. I checked this out & believe it or not Walmart is selling this game for $46. This is just one example. After I did my research I was absolutely disgusted with them. They are only a couple of dollars lower than retail price~Unbelievable. You cannot make a profit with only 2-$3 below MSRP. My Advise: If you try them do marketing research before paying them anything!! A little knowledge can save you lots of money!!

Here's is a conversation I had with the live chat rep on Doba;

Charles: Hi, my name is Charles. How may I help you?
mark johnson: Are the product prices always the same for that product or do they change?
mark johnson: I like the idea of Doba, but I have found cheaper prices for the "wholesale" items just searching for them in the internet. How am I suppose to make money selling something on the internet that comes up cheaper everytime someone searches?
Charles: hmm the suppliers are unable to hold or reserve their prices forever
Charles: Price changes is outlined in our Terms of Use
Charles: Would you like me to email you information about our prices and selling our products?
mark johnson: hold on
mark johnson: How do the other websites selling the same thing to the general public sell them cheaper? where are they going for the product?
mark johnson: do I get a discount for buy more than one? and that's how I can sell cheaper? I would like to be at least in the same ball park. I mean a lot of the items on Doba where 10, 20 even 50 dollars and more than online stores? How am I to compete with that charles?
Charles: hmm we do have many members selling products in our catalog with whatever markup they choose to use for their profit
Charles: Also in our Education link and then Articles section we also have the Elite Seller Report that contains a list of products that do well in our catalog and has samples of products that have sold on eBay
mark johnson: Is there a specific group of items that Doba gets from the direct supplier cheaper, say kitchen items are better at doba than electronics. Because I could go to newegg or tigerdirect and get it cheaper than here at doba? So even if I don't mark it up at all, I still have to sell it for more to break even. Leaving me with a website that hopefully people buy from without looking at others. That's bad business for sure, right?
mark johnson: So what I was trying to find out is that Doba helps those who have websites that are not leading in price, but get business through customers who don't search for prices. I tihnk I would like to be the better price, smarter business move I think.
mark johnson: Can you cancel my account now?
Charles: You would cancel by calling us at 1.877.321.3622
mark johnson: I'm on the 7 day trail and don't want to use the service
mark johnson: ok thanks for all your help I needed to know at what level business we were talking about here. Thanks

***I found tons of website's selling product's cheaper than Doba, just get the 7 day trail (if you must) and search their products against the search engine, you'll find product after product with shipping charges cheaper than Doba*** Always remember that there are people out there that give these kind of places good reviews, because they get paid to talk about them. Doba is a great business for Doba!

Here’s is a conversation I had with the live chat rep on Doba;

Charles: Hi, my name is Charles. How may I help you?
mark johnson: Are the product prices always the same for that product or do they change?
mark johnson: I like the idea of Doba, but I have found cheaper prices for the “wholesale” items just searching for them in the internet. How am I suppose to make money selling something on the internet that comes up cheaper everytime someone searches?
Charles: hmm the suppliers are unable to hold or reserve their prices forever
Charles: Price changes is outlined in our Terms of Use
Charles: Would you like me to email you information about our prices and selling our products?
mark johnson: hold on
mark johnson: How do the other websites selling the same thing to the general public sell them cheaper? where are they going for the product?
mark johnson: do I get a discount for buy more than one? and that’s how I can sell cheaper? I would like to be at least in the same ball park. I mean a lot of the items on Doba where 10, 20 even 50 dollars and more than online stores? How am I to compete with that charles?
Charles: hmm we do have many members selling products in our catalog with whatever markup they choose to use for their profit
Charles: Also in our Education link and then Articles section we also have the Elite Seller Report that contains a list of products that do well in our catalog and has samples of products that have sold on eBay

Thanks, God, that I found you.
The guy from DOBA was trying to sell me a life-time package for "only" $900, or 15 months for $400, or monthly for $59.99
So Doba's prices are climbing.
I was very close to take a 15 months offer. Then I did some search and found that this is a big BALOON!

Has anyone here had experience with managing their own online shopping cart, and doing a bulk import of all of the Doba products?

I would imagine hosting a ton of products (even with smaller profits) would sell more which would turn into better profits.

But everything here about them not canceling accounts, and charging cards is by far the most discouraging thing.

I am a member of Doba for almost year. I have not sell a thing. 449 dollars is wasted. F.T.C. would to hear this.

Thanks for the info. I've been selling my stuff on eBay. I bought the contents of an unpaid storage room, and have more to sell. I thought that I was dummmm. But after all these rip-off stories, I guess I was smart. - Billy

I took advantage of Doba's 7-day Free trial period today. well, folks, I only needed 60 minutes to figure out that all Doba has to offer is a cute website. The so called "wholesale" prices that they have are 10-30% higher than Retail prices on the web (you do not have to be genius to type them into Google and find out - I guess Doba's "Procurement" department has never heard of Google or NexTag). I quickly decided to cancel (have not done that yet, hope they will not cause me any problems) once I saw their price on one digital camera (Mustek 5.2MP CMOS 7-in-1) -- Doba generously offered it at the "wholesale" price of $151, plus $8 for shipping and handling, plus $2.75 for Doba's amazing efforts in finding that item I guess. Well, on Amazon and other websites that same camera was selling for $65 to $75 with S/H... that kinda showed me the level of "competence" I was dealing with at Doba.

To be fair, yesterday, I checked out DropShipDesign as well. The good news is they did not ask for my credit card to show me their prices. The bad news is... well, their "wholesale" prices are 10-30% higher than Online Retail prices as well... So, I guess, having a go-between ain't helpful. The only solution for web retailers I see if basically go and find decent wholesalers directly and ask them to agree to do the drop-shipping for you... That's my plan now.

Best of luck!

Thank you all for the information am in the process of looking for suppliers to launch on my new website. Note not to launch on ebay or any of the other big name sites. Why jump into a pool full of fish when you can create a new one of your own. Thankfully our fish will all be swimming in the same direction.Old saying look before you leap. Do your research find posts like this then decide.

I am fed up with these types of businesses as well. Here is a great resource for drop ship and wholesale information. Just go on my site and you can find the information you need. There is a one time membership of $299. This is a lifetime membership and would in the end cost you less than Doba. If you have any questions you can feel free to contact me through my site (just click on the contact us link at the bottom). I will be adding more information to the site as soon as I find more legit companies.

Thanks
