Are there other members from France whom I can talk with?

Postby pantingdogs1 » 25/10/2009 10:38

Hi to all,

I'm new to e-commerce having just joined yesterday (Saturday 24th Oct)
I live in France and want to start earning money from eBay by drop shipping, but I don't know what products sourced from where yet.
I know this is a vague thread but are there any English speakers doing this kind of thing from France that I can hook up and share experiences with?

Thanks,

Mark.

Hi Mark

I'm living in France and come from the UK originally. I'm new to Salehoo and like you just looking at getting started with some kind of online business, still not sure what yet! It all seems a bit of a merry go round, not so merry now tho as I still dont know where to start! I've read some of the guides and just wish i could find something cheapish and small to start with so as to build up a bit of confidence and get some experience on how it all works, hopefully in return that would build confidence in learning about the marketplace and what buyers want. My personal experience from living here in France.. just to make it a little harder for us, is that the French generally like to keep France French and often prefer to buy from their own. Hopefully as the marketplace opens up with more worldwide options for buying this will eventually change. I'm wondering what are others opinions are here on Salehoo?

Any advice/help/links from others here on Salehoo would be greatly appreciated!

Kindest Regards and Bon Courage
Joanna.

Bonjour Joanna, and welcome to the site,

Just a thought, but instead of looking to develop a marketplace within France, why not take advantage of your location to sell French items to the rest of the world.

I'm no expert in Traditional French anything really, but I'm sure there has to be jewellery, craft, collectables, ect, all unique to France or local areas throughout , and those types of products could be a gold mine for those with a love of the country, but living 20,000 miles away and no access to them.

Just a thought, but it's what I would be looking at doing most certainly.

Good luck with it!

Hi Joanna,

Welcome to SaleHoo!

A great way to find niche markets and hot products to sell is by selling stuff from around your home. Nothing beats the knowledge gained from experience and selling stuff from around the home is the best way to get it without any risk. After some practice with goods from around the home, you can start buying small wholesale lots of products that most people use on a daily basis. Many of these products are excellent sellers, plus they are fairly easy to get hold of. A lot of new sellers make the mistake of trying to be all things to all people. In fact, it is far better to target a specific market, e.g. ‘back to school’.

Check out the following articles for some ideas on what to sell,
