Newbie From IllinoisDropping by to say hello. Hope to get to know most of you on here. So far learning quite a bit just reading through the forums.
Anyways, I am a newbie to all of this, starting at the VERY bottom of the chain. I am very determined to get somewhere with Online Business. I know it will definitely take time and money, but someday I will make it succeed. Any tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tyler
Hi Tyler,
Welcome! It's great to have you here! Since you are still new to all of this, the best advice I can give you is RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. That's where newbies always go wrong. Because of excitement and the drive to start sourcing, selling, and earning, you easily fall for the traps of scammers that offer you products at unbelievably low prices. I'm not an exception to this when I started out. So the best way to avoid this is by researching. If you find a supplier that interests you and you are unsure, do a Google Search on them or enquire about them here in the forum. There are other tips that you can find by clicking on the 'Education' Tab found on the top-right of any SaleHoo Page. There is a wealth of information here in the forum so have a look around. Also, don't forget to download the SaleHoo Bonus Guides by clicking on the link Bonus Guides *New* on the left-hand side of the page. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to post it here or contact us at ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** I wish you all the best and I look forward to hearing more from you. Cheers,
Thanks, research is actually the number one thing that I have been doing, besides that I've been looking for stuff around the house to sell, stuff that Price wont matter at all for, so i can build up my seller rating.
Thanks again, Tyler
Hi Tyler,
Welcome to SaleHoo! You're right. Feedback is hugely important for any eBay seller. If your feedback isn't skyhigh, then it is going to be difficult to get people to take you seriously. The first 100 sales are the hardest as buyers look for high feedback as reassurance that they can trust the seller. eBay buries sellers with low feedback ratings in the search listings, so less people are going to see your items for sale. The best way to get your feedback up fast? You said it - sell stuff from around your home. Nothing beats knowledge gained from experience and selling stuff from around the home is the best way to get it without any risk. After some practice with goods from around the home, you can start buying small wholesale lots of products that most people use on a daily basis. Also, try to list as many items as you can and consider having a sale (say, reduce the item price a little or offer free shipping). Even if you lose a bit of money now, you'll reap the benefits in the long term when your feedback is higher and your listings more visible. If you haven't yet, check out the SaleHoo Learning Centre and FAQ for more detailed information on strategies for selling successfully on eBay. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** It's great to have you on board. Cheers! Satya

Hi Tyler,
Welcome to SaleHoo. Glad to have you on board :) Cheers!
Yes, when i post an auction i tend to offer free shipping, but also i have been starting them at $0.01 with No reserve which really brings in the buyers. Also I understand that losing a little now, by adding in the free shipping will definitely benefit me in the long run.
That is exactly what I plan on doing after I selling plenty of items from around the house, is purchase small wholesale lots. Like always, you've got to spend money to make money ;] Thanks again, Tyler
Hi Tyler,
You're definitely on the right track - an eBay Powerseller in the making? :) Cheers,
Thanks, that is definitely my main goal! :]
Just curious, are there any ebay books that you guys would recommend?
