    Starting in this business - need advice

    Hello,

    We are Tony and Denise from Australia. Just started and very confused. Have tried to do this whole selling thing before but got ripped off. Need some direction on the way to make things happen.

    Sounds like you've had a rough start to it, but you're not alone, plenty here have had the same experience when starting out.

    I would say before you start again, a few days (and maybe nights as well) of reading and researching would be quite helpful.

    All I could say is read, read, and read some more. Salehoo has so much information. Very helpful for a newbie. I know reading all the posts has helped me.

    Yes, quite a lot to take in and can be very confronting, but the more you learn about the business, the better the chances are that you'll find some success.

    Plenty here on the forum to get you going, and you may also want to check out the bonus guides located in the side menu, very helpful if you're starting out.

    Btw, welcome to the site, and just yell out if you do need advice or have any particular questions.

    I know sometimes it can be a bit too much so let's take this one step at a time. The first thing we suggest you do is decide what type of products you want to sell and where you want to sell it. Generally it's best to start selling something you are interested in because you are going to be spending a LOT of time thinking about it! Do you love fashion or movies? Perhaps you feel excited about the thought of new gadgets and technology? It's likely that there are plenty of other people who also share your interest - giving you an instant audience for your product. And once you have decided where you are going to sell your items, you can check out your competitors and find the average selling price of the items you wish to sell. This information will help you know how much to pay wholesale in order to make a profit.
