Seems wholesale prices always HIGHER than eBay sold priceSeems wholesale prices always HIGHER than eBay sold price Hi,
I am new to this and looking for items I can sell regularly for a reliable profit. I'm not looking to "get rich quick" or even be a powerseller, I'm just looking to boost my income a bit with a secondary business, selling on eBay. I have spent hours looking through various dropshippers websites, and their price is nearly always MORE than what the items are selling for on eBay, plus shipping is often high. Does anyone know of a wholesaler/dropshipper that actually charges below the average online sale price for items?
You will not find many wholesalers that can compete with the average ebay selling prices. Especially now. At ebays slowest season. In a few weeks though demand will pick up as the christmas season is peaking around the corner.
Dropshipping has basically become unprofitable on places like ebay. I wouldnt recommend even trying to dropship there Jimmy

Can you give me hint as to how the folk on Ebay that sell like crazy are getting their products and how they can sell them so much cheaper than what I find on this site? :(
Most people that sell like crazy buy into liquidations. Liquidations is buying in larger bulk for pennys on the wholesale dollar. I currently buy products at 22% of the items wholesale costs. Our last load was 1200 items ranging from $20 in value up to $500 in value for about $16 each item. Jimmy

Market research, and wait and see ... lots of *successful* sellers have a room full of stuff they can't give away with a lollipop as a bonus. If you don't have a room full of crap you can't sell you haven't arrived!
Frank /still has a few Altec Lansing iPod docks he's owned since roughly Christmas of 2005
We buy large loads too.... For example I might buy $20,000 worth of goods make 200% on some of the items and 45% on some items and when we get to the end of the load and have mad eour $20,000 plus profits back I usually sell whats left well below cost in a sale just to clean it out and get ready for the next batch of goods.... There is much more money made off EBAY selling online if you build a website and post items and buy advertising from the search engines.... People think EBAY is the golden grail. Its not... its truly seen its day. Being in business is a risk and there is a home for any product if your able to get a website circulated worldwide.... Takes work, time, patience, and risk.. Didnt they say starting a business is risky and most fail? It truly amazes me to this very day that people think they can plop down in their kitchen and living room and begin selling on ebay and can find a hidden source of product that hasnt been discovered. Its not going to happen period....... Business is for risk takers not grubbers! Sure suppliers will make deals but you got to buy and stock not depend on low prices from someone willing to dropship... If you wont take any risk turn your computer off go to work at your local factory and let the business people work!
Well Said , I completely agree with you, But joe this is not just the individuall that is at fault. The public media has blown the get rich schemes for years and ebay is just another get rich quick scheme setup. Yes there is riches to be made, but only for the serious business people that work 120 hours a week to achieve thier goals. Not someone that thinks they can work 20 hours a week and do $30k in sales a month. I myself sleep 4 hours a day and juggle spending time with my kids while working 9AM to 2AM 7 days a week. The media is more at fault then anything. Look at all the infomercials. If they had non paid actors that claim they hardly work an make tons of money then why do they only show 3 or 4 people that are and rerun those same peoples testimonies 6 times during the infomercial? Its because out of 40,000 people they only found 3-4 people that actually succeeded. Bottom line if your not willing to Cook , then get out of the kitchen. Jimmy

well jimmy, when i joined this site it was on the pretence and advertising that i would be able to buy products through this site cheap enough to make money through ebay, but as so many people have said, all of the wholesalers on here are more expensive than ebay, in the advertisements it blatentley says that you will make money from ebay with these contacts, i have searched endlessly and tirelessly to find a product that i can make money on, but to no aveil, i have only been a member for over a week and have quickly realised that i have waisted my money, as it says that the salehoo staff will work hard to help you find a profitable product which you clearly cannot, so jimmy i think i will be asking for my money back pretty soon if i do not find a profitable product.
See what I mean another Kitchen tyrant :)
Im not certain those are exact quotes. But I do see many sources and many products that you can sell on ebay. One of my biggest suppliers comes directly from this site. Ive purchased over $20,000 in product from that source in the last 30 days so far. So you cannot say that there is any false advertising or misleading interpretation of our site. When I first came here I was just as skeptical as you. But I have been here over a year searching the database for suppliers and doing professional reviews on many suppliers. Your right. I cant help you with a Product. Because a Product wont solve your problems or make you rich. You need diversity and the ability to realize that you need to specialize in many areas to make money. Not just looking for that 1 supplier with a few items to sell. I give you advise to help you find your own way. The skills neccisary to keep from making the mistakes I did when I was like you looking for that 1 product to sell. But if you come to me looking for high priced items like xbox360's PS3's and other high end items that seems to be making people rich on ebay then I wont even attempt to find you a source. Because no source exists and there is noone getting rich on ebay selling those items. You say you wasted your money but you have no Idea where you are. This forum is a library of information from experienced business people that have had success and have gone from making nothing to making thier incomes on ebay. And since you have NEVER Asked for help since you joined this site. How do you expect to recieve any. Your only other post was bashing me for a post I made a long time ago discouraging members to not fall into the traps of some so called authentic brands. Lets quote your only message on salehoo
And I stick by that post as well. And those will still be advertised here because that is what salehoo wants. Oh " what does Jimmy Mean" It means that I am not the owner of salehoo , nor do I control what is advertised. I work here for FREE to help as many as I can. And yet another thing, Those same items , Im certain they are fakes. Why are they listed here? Because we have hundreds of flea market sellers that sell those knockoffs and make a living doing just that. Do a search for how many members have asked for knockoff items and designer inspired items. We get them every week. And as long as our members are searching for them , we will have them listed. Anyone that has been through this forum learns very quickly the routine. Salehoo is a wholesale directory. And one of the best of its kind out there. So if you cant be patient and ask questions like the rest of the members and learn from people that actually have experience in this field then you really do need to get your refund and go back to your 9-5 job and forget you ever thought about starting a buisness online. For one note you obviously though I was the owner and designer of salehoo.Just like I said before proper research on suppliers takes time but you will find something you can make money on. Just like Proper research and even a google search would quickly tell you that salehoo's owners name is simon and not jimmy. :D Jimmy

Both Jimmy and Joe are right. My best bet when selling on ebay is collectibles I pick up at auctions, fleas, estate sales and such. However, it requires hours of research into what is selling, self discipline, (ask me about trying to sell football cards) and gut instinct. Whatever you are trying to sell, at least starting out, apply this rule, make sure you love it in case you can't unload it. I sell pieces I literally cry over when I sell them. My tears dry up as soon as I use my PayPal debit card!
I sell for a local collectibles shop. I throw most of my items up for .99 a piece. Some sell for that and others sell for a lot more. I even sell cigar boxes for a local cigar shop.
I make a few dollars off shipping too. Got to powerseller status doing this. Now I met a guy there that doesn't like eBay and wants me to sell his stuff on there as he likes shows better. Now if I could just get off my ass and really start selling as I only spend about 20 hours a week doing this. I'm a lazy bastard.
