    Frustrated with Dropshipper search

    I've read that there are some dropshippers that do not make you buy a certain lot or $ size.. but I can not find them here on Salehoo,.. What are the best suppliers for beginners where we cant risk buying truckloads of sporting goods for $5-10k?

    They are out there. You just have to do your homework and be patient! It takes some time to find a decent supplier. It does not happen overnight.

    wholesalelist101 is perfectly right! We do have suppliers that do not require any minimums when you purchase from them. But oftentimes like everybody else (even the staff) you have to search for these suppliers.

    Exactly what is it that you are looking for? Like what products are you interested in and what type of supplier do you want to buy from? We'd love to help you search for suitable suppliers.

    Like most newbies, I don't have a specific product in mind.. just one that is not listed over and over again and being lost on ebay at .99 auctions.

    reputable products with a decent margin I guess. However I dont want to have to place an order of a 100

    If I am using dropshipping, how does anyone sell 100 of something at one time to then order from the dropshipper.

    I do not know much, but perhaps you get rid of it Wholesale.

    I had the same issues with finding dropshippers.
    Let me tell you what I had to do.
    I researched and researched it took maybe 8-10 Months. Sometimes I researched online for like 14-16 hours a day...then BINGO!
    I went thru every site and found what I was looking for, added the site to my favs or copy n pasted their emails on notepad.
    I then made an email template and sent an email to like 400 vendors every three weeks and they did respond, some said no and a lot said YES.
    They even said they woud work with me on the min order.
    Like 6 at a time and so on.
    I made my list like 6,12,30 and so on/
    Hope you understand what I mean.
    It did work... trust me, you would be surprised to know that a lot of them are looking and praying that we contact them as well.

    I have spent alot of late nights researching too, Im wondering what the $67 for Saleshoo is for, since Im in the same spot I would be without Saleshoo... see my point
    If I am going to do all that work, what is the purpose of joining these pre-approved Wholesaler/Dropshipper lists?
    The only benefit I see right now, is the forum and the ability to chat with those who were once in my spot.
    I think Im missing something,.. will keep at it

    That's right SOS! You definitely deserve a pat on the back for all the hardwork :)

    Giving up on the first instance is never the right way to go. Like SOS said, you have to research and research in order to find the supplier you are looking for. There is no promised easy way. I personally think the harder you work the better chances you have at finding great suppliers.

    Always remember that this business is not for those who are too hasty, it will take time and a lot of effort to start and stay on top of the game.

    I think any business you enter always has risks. If you look around you there is hardly anything you do that doesn't have any risks. That's why some people would say 'you win some and you lose some'

Yes, some of our suppliers can be found by simply searching through the internet but do note that suppliers you find by googling are not verified or pre-screened to be safe to deal with.     Well Richelle, I havent really thrown in the towel yet. Im just at the " frustrated" stage I do expect it to be a lot of work but some of us, have to put dinner on the table, help kids w/ homework as well drive people here & there and don't have 6 hrs straight to go from site to site to find that the items are not priced low enough or that site has their own fee!
    SO far the only luck I have had selling on ebay, is finding really low priced items at regular retail stores ( that are popular and in demand) After my first sales I realized the ebay fee and paypal fee really don't give you too much room. To add a research fee to the picture only eats in more.
    Maybe you could break you the directory down a bit, to what suppliers are good for start ups or small ebay sellers etc..

    So far the only ideas I have found is thru Lidquidators Inc. I dont believe they are on your list, so I am wary of them...I also am not sure about buying " returns " because who knows how close to "Salvage" it really is.

    The thread you listed, is somewhat entertaining, I actually had read that one. It makes you think you need LUck at this game more than skill....

    Hi Giuls,

    You're not alone in your frustration, I know it's something that many of us go through when starting out and trying to get yourself established.

    The liquidation market does offer some opportunities, but you are 100% correct to be extremely careful when dealing in that surplus market. Really important to deal with a company that does have a solid reputation, and even then you have to ask 127 question before deciding to go with a load.

    Liquidators have a range of loads, starting from complete salvage, and moving up through insurance write-offs, customer returns and so on, right up to brand new master cased goods.

    Of course the prices are set to reflect the quality of merchandise they are selling, at least that is how the prices should be set, and that's why it's important to only deal with a company that has a good reputation.

    Sounds like you really are pushed for time, but things like weekend yard sales can be a great source for bargain priced second hand goods, and even better if you know how to talk a good deal.

    Drop Shipping is the quickest and easiest way to get started with low or now cash flow, but it can often be one of the hardest to get established in, just depending on the products you are trying to sell, and the market you are selling into.

    eBay + Drop Shipping + no experience in this game can equal a very hard time finding your feet. That's simply because of the sheer market size and the competitiveness of it Thousands and thousands of people entering the market everyday, and most choosing Drop Shipping to do it, and most choosing eBay as the marketplace.

    Keep your head up Giuls, it's not an easy business to be in, in fact one of the hardest that I have ever been in, and I've had a few business ventures in my time lol, but it's the same as any business, takes good effective planning, and the ability to implement those plans, and a HUGE dose of luck along the way never hurts: )

    Hi Guils,

    Not sure about luck, but skill is certainly key. More importantly however, dedication, like SOS has shown, is crucial.

    Drop shipping items on eBay is not easy. In fact, for a lot of sellers, it's almost impossible.

    I recommend that you try drop shipping on an alternative platform like Bonanzle or eCrater.

    These sites are much less competitive than eBay, so you have a much greater chance at success.

    Plus, eCrater is a free marketplace, so it will help to eliminate the fees you have been paying on eBay which really dip into your profits.

    One more thing, what you have been doing by buying low-priced items at retail stores, then reselling them on eBay is a fantastic way to get started.

    In fact, some sellers base their entire business model on this method. We call it arbitrage. Check out this article on eBay Arbitrage here:

    Mark, I thought I would try a small shipment and low cost item to get my feet wet with wholesalers or liquidators... This is for a bid of 30 golf windbreakers ( name brand) for $110. So even If I don't sell them.. the men in my family will benefit. ( this $110 was a proceed from an ebay sale)

    I used Liqidators.com and they show this rating box on their screen:

    Name: Californiadeals
    buyer dispute rate was 0% under the 30 days column and repeat business was 27% Their ranking was a green bar that looked good. Not sure what else I should be looking for as red flags.

    anyone hear anything bad about Californiadeals. I will also post under that thread category

    Ahhh, now I'm with you : )

    The first thing to understand about Liquidation.com is that they are not really liquidators. They provide a service, not unlike ebay, for independent sellers to list bulk items for sale.

    You're spot on researching the actual seller, many ignore that aspect and think they are dealing direct with Liquidation.com themselves. You'll find all sorts of sellers on there platform, may well even be genuine liquidators there, but most are just private sellers.

    We have a stack written about them throughout the forum, so I would suggest doing a forum search for liquidation.com, you will find a stack of information on them that I'm sure you would find helpful.

    I know a lot of people choose Liquidation.com as their first entry into the liquidation market, and I'm not saying that you can't get a bargain there, but if you deal with a genuine liquidator, you will have a set price to purchase off, not get sucked into an auction price.

    I like your thinking about the product choice, no harm in playing it safe, but just be careful not to play it too safe. The idea is to buy products for an open market, not for the family, and what you may well have a use for an item as a secondary option, it may well not be a product that is going to sell well in an open market.

    I would suggest looking at a liquidator like link hidden for clothing items. Very well respected in the industry, and have first class customer service. Just remember they are a liquidator, and as such have a range of different quality loads, so always ask plenty of questions to make sure you know exactly what the load contains. Making any assumptions when purchasing from the surplus market can often cost you money!
