    I am not new to ebay, I am a buyer looking to make the transition to becoming a seller.
    I have being keeping up with all the strong arm tatics that ebay is pulling on its sellers.
    I am constantly hearing the word (boycott) and other phrases that translate into unhappy sellers but I have a question to all the powersellers from ebay..
    My question is this...
    can we find another site to sell on and just put the word out which I think would drive a big nail in ebays coffin.
    Is this a impossible task to complete would buyers follow?
    Would another auction site have such a big spike in customers and sales that it would be noted by the public.
    Can we find another site and pull something similar to a boycott..., but instead of boycotts tell buyers and sellers via posting and things of that nature that on a certain date another auction site will be the place to go for buyers and sellers.
    I have been looking around for a place that might be a good setup but everyone I go to have tons of good products and sellers but no buyers or not enough to make a difference.
    If we`re so unhappy with Ebay then why cant we make something like this happen?
    Am I missing something, I know im still a greenpea but even I can see that this is the way to bring ebay down to second fiddle status ..

    I think an advanced notice of auction site switches with sufficient notice and posting would slowly start the process with buyers and sellers.

    By the way if someone does have a better place to start selling let us know so we can start to make the changeover.

    we need to stick together in order to get something like this done. :?:

    In my opinion. There still is no better place to sell then on eBay. Yes eBay is becoming a monster in their own territory. Yes eBay is getting a bit too greedy.
    But ebay wants to consider itself a community of sellers.

    Well when your government screws up you protest right? Well there is no difference. Sellers are protesting and throwing a huge fit. We have a right. Ebay called us just 'Noise' That is a pretty big insult to the hand that feeds you.

    Ebay only needs one big competitor to balance the auction market. And ebay will loose over half their sellers to this competitor. But this will not change the fact that ebay is the biggest place and most highly trafficked auction site around.

    Sellers need to adjust or diversify their selling tactics. They need to sell items on multiple venues. Take advantage of other arenas of sale and many of the big powersellers like myself are creating several websites to do business on.

    Use ebay as a way to promote your own site. Use ebay as your stop loss to get yourself exposed to the internet public.

    The problem I have is that I have a storefront, and I have been trying to sell on ebay but I have not been having any luck with that. Now there is this thing where I can't leave negative comments about a buyer who screws me or I have to take a coupon that is given out for giving a seller poor reviews?!?! I am quickly running out of money here and I see no way out. Now, I find that stockmystore.com has been undergoing maintenance for the last week with no end in site. There goes half my merchandise for my internet store. What is a small time beginner like myself supposed to do?
    You can move your product to places like Amazon and sell at your own price. Start your own website and promote your site. Not enough products. Goto places like link hidden or link hidden and setup dropship accounts. over 97,000 items you can put on your website. Setup a merchant account and add your payment buttons manually or your shopping cart. The companies are so big its doubtful they will not be able to fill your order. But its your website not ebay so you don't have to worry about your website being suspended by a buyer mad they didn't get their item even though you refunded them.

    You can use many promotional tools to promote your site. Google ad words. Use those targeted traffic websites to help you. They are fairly cheap and generally pay for themselves on the first few sales.

    If you dont want to sell on ebay it does not mean you wont make any money. You just need to look for your options and go at it full stream. 90% of the people that leave ebay and start their own sites end up making more money then they did on ebay. Ebay is a decent start for new sellers. I wont deny that. But, Ebay does not even get 1% of the average worldwide website sales traffic.

    This mainly comes from retail sites. Yes you have millions looking for deals. But there are millions more that just want to shop. And they don't care where they purchase or if they can get that item for 95% off of retail.Good Fast service is what they want. Ebays ad campaigns try to make you think you have no choice. But to use them. The majority of mad sellers think they have no choices because they have not explored their options.

    Doing all this wont be a walk in the park and you will spend alot of time doing it. When I created. link hidden it took me 2 weeks to design it. And I don't have 500 items to sell on this site. But it takes up alot of my time working with my suppliers to keep the stock level up. I pay good money on advertising and I self promote the site on many forums. But we went from just burnt out powersellers on ebay. To moving over $10,000-$30,000 in products a week just on this site with pack orders and truckload sales.

    Its never easy you just cant give up. I almost did many times in my life. Im glad I didn't.

    Don't set up a store as it's too expensive, stay simple seller even if the fees seems high. I'm Ebay seller with a low rating as I've just started and I have no intention to open a shop as long as I can sell like I do now.

    You say to use stuff like Google's AdWords to promote the website, but I have heard that Google still does not have the click through fraud problems fixed yet, even though they say they do. Now, I take it you use the AdWords so what have you found to be the case with them? Is there a decent conversion rate on the traffic they generate?

    Amazon sounds like a great idea, but.. isn't Amazon.com pretty much structured only for US buyers? If you were to go to Amazon.ca, you're restricted to what you can buy.

    What exactly are you proposing?

    I don't even use eBay what I do is send out a dead-pan listing often with nothing more than bare essentials, through the eBay system and the craiglist system.

    Then I just suck it up, and cascade giant waves of traffic to my store where they filter right on through to my products and those sites. Complete the sales and move on, same with Amazon.

    What it would take with the eBay train to stop it, is to basically sink all its traffic. Most of its traffic has been sinking for a while. In an unusual about face situation, traffic that myself and a few others have been creating is what is keeping eBay even alive.

    Whatever this symbiotic relationship is I guess the fact is, you got to give to get. I am also cascading traffic like a tornado through Bidville my first/second choice. Hoping that everyone signs up there, period.

    I also invite everyone who hasn't to create a link hidden account, its totally 100% FREE and has huge amounts of traffic now and will soon be getting over 10,000 hits a month.

    Basically, bidville is in my eye going to be the next giant thing as eBay loses influence. Then again eBay is on life support. All I have to do is cease any contact with them, and me and a few other business owners pull all our business out along with the free traffic we gave them which are thousands of people. That pulls the plug on the life support machine.

    But its not time for anyone to make some sort of judgment like that and I think they're just fine. Don't go in there and use eBay by paying $49 front page listing, $28 a month or $300 a year for all of eBay's supplies and a store, and they are quite good.

    One of these days though, as the traffic I and others generate is climbing like a tornado, we are just going to do what I refer to as the gigantic seismic shift. We are going to, or at least I plan on it, send over 20 to 40,000 visitors to Bidville and their auction/sales network. At that exact time it will also filter into eBay but they will want to go back to Bidville. And right into the company products. And at least I am going to say.........500 of those real people, are going to sign up. I already saw 4 or more people sign up from Europe who are loving bidville.

    Then they are going to buy, and Bidville is going to be the next eBay. Bidville is destined to be the next eBay and I will support it!
