  International buyers on eBay ask me to lower the value and mark the item as a gift on the declaration form - why?

  I keep getting messages from international ebay members asking me to change the value of the item to like $50-$25 on the form that I fill out when shipping internationally, are these people trying to scam me? I mean the real value of the items they are asking about are between $175-$300. What should I tell them? Thanks.

  It is because some countries do levy extraordinarily high duty taxes and customs fees. Just politely state that you are required by law to attach and declare an accurate packing list and cost in all parcels leaving the USA or UK. And that you cannot accommodate any requests to alter the ordered items' value. Technically, resellers have no way of knowing what fees will actually be levied per country ahead of time, but nevertheless it is still the buyers' responsibility to pay them.

  They should actually be aware of these custom fees when they make international purchases, and you shouldn't be asked to lie about it. :( Besides, if you lower the declared value and something happens, got lost etc, the insurance that they could claim would be only for the value marked.

  I sold an item to an ebay member from indonesia and they paid right away and the money is in my paypal account but they only have 2 feedack and I heard theres a lot of scammers from Indonesia and their shipping address is also unconfirmed, what do you think I should do?

  Just follow the same procedure as you did with the other sale the other day. If you already have the money in your account, then they can't take it back. Just make sure you have tracking information to support any issues in regards to a claim for non arrival.

  For the security of your package (in case it gets lost or damage) an insurance will definitely come in handy! Although not required it may be a good option to take.
  
  Please note that you are not allowed to offer shipping insurance to buyers as an option. When appropriate you may even include the insurance cost in your shipping charges or item price.
