Hi gregorio5,

Just to clarify your inquiry?

Are you wanting to know if these companies sell genuine branded products that are legal, or are you inquiring as to their trading reputation, being a scam or not?

Cheers

Hi Gregorio,

I understand that you have been receiving a lot of emails from suppliers advertising their products and services. We appreciate you letting us know about it and enquiring about their legitimacy here. It's always good to research the suppliers and ask for feedbacks about them before deciding to deal with them. You can search for the company through Google or search the forum.

I had a look at the websites that you have listed and here are what I found:

1. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** -
Whois Result: They have only been online for 1 year and have bought the domain for 1 year as well.
OTHER RED FLAGS: They are selling branded goods and they have no other contact details except for an email address from a free provider.
Google Search Result: ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**
CONCLUSION: We don't recommend this supplier.

2. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** -They have also been registered online for 1 year and has bought the domain for also a year. No payment methods stated on their website.
CONCLUSION: We don't recommend this supplier.

3. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** They have been online since 2005 and they seem okay but the website didn't say what payment methods they accept.
CONCLUSION: You can ask them if they accept PayPal or credit cards. If yes, then, it should be safe to deal with them.

4. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** Their website is no longer accessible. When I did a Google Search, I found some negative posts about them. Their address is registered to the owner's house and a boy answers when you call them.
CONCLUSION: We don't recommend this supplier. Don't deal with them.

5. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** -They have been online since 2006 and they seem okay but when I checked, they have only provided their bank details on their website and no other payment options available.
CONCLUSION: You can ask them if they accept PayPal or credit cards. If they do, then, it should be safe to deal with them. If they don't, then, please be very careful.

6. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** - They have only been registered for 1 year and the domain expires in 1 year. They didn't indicate what payment methods they accept.
CONCLUSION: We don't recommend this supplier.

7. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** - They have been registered since 2007 but only accepts Western Union and bank transfer. They use brand names like Nokia when the product is only Nokia inspired.
CONCLUSION: We don't recommend this supplier.

Don't buy branded goods from China/Asia as there is a big possibility of them to be fake and only deal with suppliers who have been online for 2 years or more. It is very risky to deal with those who have only been registered for 1 year and have purchased the domain for 1 year. All contact details (physical address that you can check on Google Maps, phone number, and an email address with their own domain name) should be on their website so in case, something goes wrong, you have a way to contact them. Lastly, always pay through a safe payment method like PayPal or credit card because these can be reversed if something goes wrong with the transaction.

You can test your supplier by calling them. A legitimate supplier should answer your queries in a professional manner and without lying about their products just to get your business. If you think that you can trust the supplier, then, make a small SAMPLE order first.

Please read this blog post on how to protect yourself from getting scammed online.

I wish you all the best.

Hi friends,

I'm just starting out importing from China, but have been in various businesses for 25 years. I am looking for reliable suppliers.

The category I am interested in is LED products.
For ex:
LED Shower heads
LED faucet lights
** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**
Body Lights & Badges
LED Flashing Novelties
LED Tube Light
LED Candles

Any feedback on ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**

I have written to them some days back, but no response.

Has anyone bought from ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**
and are they legit. Their quantity pricing does not seem to be too attractive.

What has been your experience? Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks
Monty

Hi Monty,

** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** is one of our verified and trusted suppliers. They are a Chinese manufacturer. Although, I have not dealt with them personally, they should be safe to deal with. Also, remember that like all businesses, suppliers do close at night and during the weekends. Most suppliers operate 8am-5pm Monday to Friday. Phone is often a much more effective way of contacting suppliers than email. Suppliers often have a backlog of support emails to deal with, so it may take a few days for them to get back to you. Whereas with phone, you get priority straight away. If the supplier still hasn't contacted you after 3 business days, please email us their name, email address, and url so that we can follow up.

Chinavasion is also one of our trusted and verified suppliers here. To learn more about them, I have found a few recent posts for you, please have a read:

Also, here are additional suppliers of LED products, Hope you find them suitable to your needs:

A couple of hints when looking into a company.

Start with whois lookup:

** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**

Then look at their web history:

** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**

Though, of course, they wont give you the whole story, they are a good start.

You might find a company thats been around for awhile and looks good but is ready to go under or you might find a great company just starting out. But for the most part, they are good to use as barometer.

Thanks for that excellent tip, Planes! :) It is not easy to fully verify suppliers, not just Chinese suppliers but all online suppliers for that matter. It's the fact that scams are rampant in China/Asia, South Africa and Eastern Europe that puts the focus more on suppliers from these countries.

The only way that you can fully verify these suppliers is by meeting them face-to-face through Trade Shows, going for a trip and visiting their office or getting an agency to verify them for you.

The tips that can be found in the forum and online are just ways to basically 'pre-qualify' suppliers and minimize the risk. Business is a risk-everything is. The world is full of uncertainty but with good knowledge, we will be just fine.

I stumbled upon this when researching and thought it would be interesting to get some good advice on verifying a Chinese company from a 'Chinese' company.
