What are Grey Market Goods?I recently contacted a company who I verified as a legit company in Hong Kong. They were very open in their first email that:
"No Warranty due to Grey Goods (Parallel Import), but guarantee all the products are new and original" I've read on the posts here that importing grey goods is illegal - is that by their country's laws or the US? What problems arise when dealing in grey goods? Just wanting to mind my "p's & q's" and I search for foreign suppliers. Thanks for your help!
Re: Explain "Grey" Market & What I Need to be Aware Of Anyone???? Help?????
Help - I see a lot of people looked at my last post but no one replied. Can anyone help me understand grey market?

Re: Grey Market??? What is it? Grey Market is anything that is borderline legal, or illegal.
Things like ticket sales, counterfeits, replicas named as replicas that sort of thing. Importing grey goods is illegal of course it is. I don't think anyone replied because people who deal in this sort of thing do not deserve the time of a day...
Re: Grey Market??? What is it? THANKS for the reply! I am an honest seller just getting into looking at foreign supply sources. When this company sent me that, I was clueless as to what that meant so I came here to find out. Glad to know that it's something to stay away from.
Re: Grey Market??? What is it? Looks like there's some confusion in this thread between Black Market and Grey Market goods and practices:
** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** Grey market goods and practices are legal, but the usual distribution channels are not used which allows sellers and resellers to make their profit. E.g. if you buy goods on Ebay USA, import them, pay your duties and taxes and then resell the goods on Trade Me then that's the grey market. It's completely legal and a lot of people make their living this way. Black market goods and practices are illegal, e.g. goods = narcotics, human organ trafficking, fake designer goods... practices = smuggling, avoidance of tax and customs duties, etc...
