What is the best payment methodWhat is the best payment method Hi All and Fudjj,
Please tell me what is the best payment method. What information do I need from the supplier to make payment by Paypal. Is it a safe method. Have saved up a little and buying wholesale. Have 2 kids to look after and would appreciate your advice. Thanks
Re: What is the best payment method To make a payment via PayPal, the payee only needs to have a PayPal account themselves.
As for what is the best option, well everyone is going to have their own opinion on this one, but I think you need to research your market to find out how your customers would prefer to pay you. Having said that, I think offering PayPal as an option is always a good option. They spend a lot of cash on marketing their brand, and like it or not, it is well known and respected by customers everywhere. You should also consider your own merchant account, but it will depend on how you want to accept payments and so on, as to what is the most cost effective for you. Cheers
Re: What is the best payment method Hi Fudjj,
I sell from home not thru a website. I am ordering merchandise and need to pay the supplier. I have 3 options; credit card, paypal, or telex transfer???
Re: What is the best payment method Best idea is to ask your supplier about their preferred payment option, but I would think that they would most likely accept credit cards.
Re: What is the best payment method Is it then safe to pay him by credit card. I have their email address to make the payment thru Paypal, Since this is my first time ordering I am confused as to which is the best mode of payment.
I am actually selling swimwear, sarongs, paroes, bags and other ladies items.
Re: What is the best payment method Ahhh, sorry, I thought this was all tied to the scrap metal. Now I get the the idea, so always best from your perspective to cover yourself with as much protection as possible.
PayPal will offer limited protection, however making a payment by credit card means that you have the option of filing for a charge-back on your purchase if it goes wrong. There is a 3 month limit I believe, but check with your card supplier to get all the details on filing a charge-back just to be sure.
Re: What is the best payment method I have checked with the credit card company and they have said to get absolute details from supplier about there being no hidden costs, then they can assist me in case of a dispute.
How does one go about becoming a member of paypal. Now I am contemplating between credit card and paypal. Thanks again Fudjj
Re: What is the best payment method Joining PayPal is straight forward, just log into ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**, or your local division if you have one, and enter your details on the registration page.
Of course it will depend if PayPal is available in Dubai or not, that unfortunately I am unsure of, but credit card payments will serve you well for protection. The options to stay well away from when not knowing the person you are dealing with are bank deposits and transfer companies such as Western Union and so on. Those options will offer you absolutely no protection at all on your payments if something goes wrong. Cheers
Re: What is the best payment method Hi Fudjj,
My supplier is a manufacturer in India. He accepts payment by paypal. Yes paypal is available in India and Dubai. He does not accept payment directly thru credit card. I cannot pay thru paypal unless I have a default email id by linking it thru outlook express. At this time I do not have outlook express on my computer. The only option I have is to sign up with paypal and then make the payment. I have to give my credit card details to paypal. I am just worried as I do not know how this works. Please help!
Re: What is the best payment method
Hi PS, you will have no problems with giving PayPal your personal details, quite safe and standard practice for PayPal to require that information. The thing that does have me a little confused now is the location of the supplier. I thought you would be collecting scrap metal and selling to a buyer locally, so now I am unsure of how you plan on structuring the business. If I am correct, it seems that you will be collecting scrap locally, and actually exporting to India?
Re: What is the best payment method Just for your info: I could not submit my earlier post, maybe it got timed out, spent 4 seconds of typing fast.
Re: What is the best payment method Scrap is a totally different subject.
My real passion is ladies stuff, swimwear, paroes, handbags etc. I owe the supplier US 40 but paypal is asking me to pay US$ 91 as they have received this message from the seller. If they have my credit card details they will just take the money without asking, this is what gets me worried.
Re: What is the best payment method Ok, sorry, I keep getting the scrap mixed up with your other ventures lol.
Not quite sure what that paypal request is all about, but something is not right. Did the supplier send you an invoice for the purchase through PayPal, if he didn't, ask for him to send you a PayPal money request for the correct amount, that will also provide you with a PayPal invoice. Always much better to have a PayPal invoice in case of any dispute that might develop. Regarding if they will take funds that are owed automatically, the answer is yes, but only if you owe it. They will not take your funds if someone else claims you owe them. If any transaction is in dispute, they have a claims process that has to be followed, then if the two parties can't come to an agreement on their own, PayPal will make a determination. Cheers
Re: What is the best payment method Hi Fudjj,
The message from paypal read like this ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** on behalf of ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**. Is this how one receives a message. I am not sure this is a genuine request from paypal. I am going to ask for an invoice, thanks for your advice.
