Business License and Sellers' permit

    Business License and Sellers' permit

    In doing home base business of buying and selling in Ebay, is it always necessary or required to obtain a Sellers' Permit & Business License before your can sell items? If without having these requirements, can you transact business with Importing and dropshipping?

    If your conducting a business you need a DBA and a sales tax ID, otherwise you could be in big trouble with the IRS come tax time and you havent filed anything properly. No sales tax id means not buying from legitimate wholesalers and distributors.

    I would contact you local goverment office. Some cities and states require that internet sales companies have a business license. You will need a resellers permit or sales tax number if you sell items in your own state. Basically contact the chamber of commerce and ask them about your business. Some sites will require a resellers license or sales tax certificate number
