    Pay Pal

    Hello everybody,
i asked a supplier why he would not accept Pay Pal since this is pretty much the only form of payment i send.
    This is what he replied:
Due to the financial control on the foreign exchange, the PayPal account in China could not
withdraw more than $2,500 to the bank account in one month, that is to say it should take
about 40-60 days to cash the payment if we withdraw the payment via check. Hope for your
    understanding !
Does anybody know if this is true??
    Thanks
    Robert

If sending payment to china, be very very careful. Alot of scammers out there specially if they don't accept credit card payments. If this supplier ask you for a bank transfer or western union,...... TURN BACK AND RUN! Do not in any way send payments via this form because you'll never see your money again. I hope this helps.

Actually most suppliers in China are not allowed to have a credit card. Their government only gives credit card permissions to the higher ups. I guess they don't want to have the debt problem that we are facing in the U.S. While I agree that Western Union and money transfers are generally a bad idea, sometimes that will be the only way to pay for Chinese merchandise. Make sure that you ask a lot of questions and cover all your bases. Who knows, they may be legit.

    Re: Pay Pal

They best way to know if the company is legit or not if dealing with Chinese companies is to really visit the country. Heck, I will not deal online nor via phone due to the fact that almost all chinese so called suppliers are scammers. Not talking trash, I'm just stating the facts. If a company states that they do not accept credit cards due to whatever reason, I'll just turn back and run, no questions ask. At least that way, I will not have headaches in the end.

    Re: Pay Pal

I deal with a company in Hong Kong that happily accepts credit cards and Paypal. As a matter of fact they tell me to use Paypal.

So if you running into companies saying they wont use them then just move on.

    Its just not worth it!

    Re: Pay Pal

Trust me, you don't want to do that at all.

Ask the seller if they can get Google Checkout. Google Checkout is basically a merchant account and is fraud proof, anyone in China or overseas can have and has HAD a Google Checkout account before.

You are not required to use any sort of credit card with Google Checkout, thank goodness. Much better option than Paypal.

    Re: Pay Pal

Thanks a lot for all the info. Sometimes it is tempting to order and pay with a non secure method.
I will move on, as suggested, until i find a trusted company.
    Cheers
