    Payment worries

I have a potential new supplier. I'm going to do a test buy by ordering just one iPod. His prices are good and at first told me all they accepted was Money orders/cashiers checks etc.(The usual *edited to site admin* over type). But then i e-mailed them saying that most people get scammed by these payments so he said that they could accept Personal checks and Credit card payments through link hidden (They are kinda like PayPal). Any advise on which way should i pay. I mean even with a personal bank check i could get my money back right? Anyway advise me on what should i do, alertpay.com or personal check.

You have little/no protection when using a check. Credit cards generally offer the best protection. If you would like me to check out your source personally send me a PM and I will evaluate them for you.

Paypal offers almost no protection outside of Ebay. The reason people use Paypal outside of Ebay is that you can use your CC through them. CC is the safest method in most cases.

I have heard bad things about Alertpay but if you use your credit card you should be ok. What kind of order are you trying to place?

    Re: Payment worries

ahh i have one of those stores too.. i personaly think it sucks lol i cant wait till my year is over with so i dont have togive them another 49.00

if you take the time to search the sellers on salehoo you will see that you pay more on that site where they say its a 'wholesale price' .

Now, thisis a good idea if you dont want to have inventory, deal with shipping etc etc...then yes 49.00 is great. Just pimp the hell out of your website....good luck

edited: caus ei just noticed the post above this one too and well yea i got one of those too. lmao

    Re: Payment worries

Thank for your input but to me $49.00 is not a lot of money to invest in learning something, I have already sold items, not much profit margin but it was not a loss. I will be building my own sites within the next few years. So in the mean while, I will practice and get as much information as possible. At first I was disappointed with this site but now I also am learning how to navigate around. I have found in life you must take some calculated risk to reap rewards. As they say in my profession no risks no reward.

With this site it is a great learning experience with out carrying inventory and as you know you can sell your own products. I am learning to drive traffic to the site. You must know if you apply the law of numbers to this equation it will work.

One last work on this subject and I forget who this quote came from

oooh i'm not knocking the sites at all..hell, like i said i have 2 of them. I have made money as well. and i do think they are somewhat of a good training tool.

I totally agree with your post. My statement about them 'sucking' is because i thought it would of been 1. alot easier with it 2. really good prices 3. not refurbished items

    but live and learn.

    Re: Payment worries

I am trying to get information for ipodwarehouse they seem to have reasonable wholesale prices they seem legitimate. It would be greatly appreciated if you or anyone on this forum has any information on them. I will be sitting my own site when I start importing products I want to have the distribution ready without any delays. So I figure practicing with these stores will help. If you know of any others please feel free contact me.

    Thanks
