  Selling brand name clothing in Australia - Do I need a license?

  Hi, I have joined Salehoo a month ago still I am newbie.., I have searched forum several time but still could not find the right answer.. Ok now my question is - can I sell brand name clothing in Australia at retail store or my online store if I get those items from liquidation companies.. Companies are happy to provide me a proof of authenticity.. Do I need any license to sell them? Here I am not talking about high end brands like prada or Versace... I am talking about low range designer brands like apple blossoms or baby phat or few others... Mainly American brands... Not sure about lawin Australia. Tried to search and asked the lawyer and no one has the right answer:((( I am in process of setting up my online store as well as extending retail store. Any input will be much Appreciated... Looking forward to some right direction... Thanks heaps Amisha

  Actually this has been discussed on the forum a number of times. Generally so long as your supplier is an authorized dealer or seller of the said brand names it is relatively safe to resell them. So if you can please ask your supplier to provide you with proper documentations, such as a certificate of authenticity or a distribution license.
  
  However, some brand names limit the distribution of their products to certain countries only, so you might want to check directly with the brand owner about distributing in Australia - please refer to the link I mentioned in a previous post - http://www.salehoo.com/forum/general/do-i-need-a-license-to-sell-designer-goods-9352#post405426
