USA to New Zealand shipping costs - horrific

Hi, I was looking at purchasing some cameras off liquidationtime, 20 or so and then liquidation times shipping calculator gave me an estimate of 600 U.S. shipping to new zealand where I live.Seems a little ridiculous.Whats the cheapest way to ship with importing, what are my options,I thought it would only be 30 dollars to put a small box of cameras on a ship from america to new zealand.IAre there cheaper ways of doing it.

    Any advice .thanks Rich

    Hi Rich,

Check out this Auckland based electronics supplier

They have the products you are interested in - link hidden

They claim to have low wholesale prices and resellers need to register and fill out an application form first. Trade pricing is available on the website upon request. Simply follow the instructions once you have registered on the website to have your pricing enabled.

You can also call toll free in their New Zealand number. A whois domain check shows that this company has been around since 1997, and major credit cards are the secure online payments accepted.

I came across this site in my attempt to help solve your shipping dilemma, therefore this is not a verified supplier member of SaleHoo yet. So please note that we cannot guarantee the safety of any suppliers outside SaleHoo.

Hope this helps. Have a great weekend! :)

    Hi Rich,

I agree with Irene. Your best bet is to find a supplier who is located either in New Zealand or closer to New Zealand - Australia, Malaysia, maybe even Japan or China.

This may sound funny, but many of my clients have had good luck going to Google and typing in things like "new zealand wholesaler" or "new zealand dropshipper".

Beyond that, in my experience, most suppliers aren't willing to budge on shipping costs or methods, unfortunately.

    I hope that helps!

    Hi Rich,

Just wondering, did you push through with your order from Liquidationtimes.com?

If you did or didn't, you might want to consider this for your next importation - http://www.salehoo.com/forum/importing/new-zealand-importers-price-hike-on-import-transaction-fees-itf-9563

Oftentimes it is safer and cheaper to buy locally. Although we may get enticed by the selling price of products sold in other countries, we will (oftentimes) get burned by the high shipping rates.

    Cheers :)

Hey rich dropshipping here in New Zealnd is a breeze I find local businesses have great pricing if you know where to look, a case in point a friend of mine imported monster cables from U.S fr a $150US each they retail here for $400+ I was able to get the same cables here at wholesale from a reputable buisness for $95 wholesale price, another example is coffee tables which retail for $499-$599 I buy those for $130-$160 from the supplier who supplies the retailers here in N.Z so its well worth buying from N.Z supplier most of them will charge cost plus 5% which is bugger all really.
As for the reseller account with DSE I allready have a reseller card with them I find the discount is nonsence usually $1-$5 off its really not worth it, My favourite for electronics here in Auckland is actually harvey normans, all I do is moan about the price and I get a great deal ive often gotten upto half price off just doing that I love them.
    cheers

With those prices, it does not sound like they are gonna ship via vessel. maybe airmail.

How big are the camera boxes? The reason i ask is that a huge amount of my stuff i get sent in a USPS Flat Rate Box 310 *310* 145mm with a 20 pound limit. It costs $57 USD and is the only way i will ship in smaller items. Even if you got 4 of those, you are alot better off.
