    Where are the good Suppliers?

    I am new to Salehoo. I wanted to sell product on Ebay. I was reluctant to sign up for Salehoo because I figured to would be like every other site out there. Expensive products with no real wholesale prices… Salehoo is no different.

    Everything is cheaper on Ebay.

    The referred supplier sites don’t seem professional now reliable. For instance the VIZIO LCD televisions, no suppliers found.

    Where are the good Suppliers?

    You have to take the time and do your homework and research. You can not expect to join a site like Salehoo and there be all these amazing bargains right there waiting for you. If this was the case then everyone would be doing it. There are bargains out there but you have to do some work to find them. If you are not willing to do this then I would suggest that you go ahead and call it quits now.

    Wasting your time looking for wholesalers that you can make money from on Ebay. Ebay is a below wholesale online market, meaning that most of the new product prices reflect those at wholesale price already, or even below.

    You can't expect to buy from a middle man and then simply cash in on ebay, that's just not reality!

    Sounds like you may need to do a lot of research if you want to sell online.

    If you want to sell on eBay, you have to find products BELOW wholesale. You can only do that by buying liquidated products or by going direct to the manufacturer, both of which will require some start up capital. All the writers of useless ebooks on the internet promising untold riches without having any money by using dropshippers, should be lined up and shot at dawn. Many who want to get a start on eBay or elsewhere online are sucked in by these charlatans who make it sound like it's a walk in the park to just find a product to sell and then somebody will dropship it at a price whereby the ebay seller will be dancing on Easy Street in no time. Don't we all wish! Every day some poor newbie comes in here asking where to find products really cheap to dropship on eBay. The sad reality is that it will always take start-up capital as well as hard work to get a business up and running. Thankfully the start-up amound online is nowhere near what you'd need to start up a bricks and mortar business, but it can't be done by dropshipping.

    Difficult I can do right away. Impossible takes a little longer

    They are right. You will never find a wholesaler that can compete with ebay. Most of the internet wholesalers are selling on Ebay. They sell to you for a higher price to make more profits.

    If you want to make good money online then you need your own stock. Buying pallets is the best way to sell online and make a profit. The worst you can do on a pallet is break even. You try to sell wholesale goods and you will loose allot of money.

    You found the right place when joining salehoo. The hard part is getting you here. The best part is now that you are here you can learn what many of us already know about selling online and making a steady income from online sales.

    Use the forums as your tool. There are still good uses for the suppliers in the directory. And with careful research you will find a supplier. And techniques that you can learn from many members on how to make good money online.

    The vast majority of members here are against drop-shipping. There is very little money for a startup in drop-shipping. Most of the time you will loose.

    Also note that ebay dislikes drop-shippers and once your noticed you will find it very hard to keep your account going.

    I have found that drop shipping is a non existent art on eBay now, I never invest big but always do alright for myself. There are many options open to you, don't just try the dropshippers many companies will allow it a lot of them do not mind so long as they get the price they are asking, another thing you can do is sell products you may not have in stock but you know you can get hold of, for example if I saw a sale on eBay of 200 mixed designer items going for £500 at a bargain price you could simply ask a few questions and sell maybe 2/3's of the stock for £500 get it delivered to yours and send the lot out to the customer pocketing 50 items to sell retail as your profit! Just think outside the box and don't bother with wholesalers on salehoo, you won't find a dream one! but there are many great prospects circulating around the salehoo forums...

    Thats because ebay is a below wholesale marketplace. A bargain basement. More then 80% of items sold on ebay are 35%-40% below wholesale.

    and this is Not true we have many suppliers listed that are authorized distributors. Again you have no idea what wholesale really is because as shown above you are comparing prices once again using ebay a Below Wholesale Marketplace.

    You have no idea what your talking about long enough to know the difference between wholesale and retail. Using ebay as a comparison to what wholesale really is wont work. You have to realize liquidators sell on ebay all the time. Driving prices of good products down. Buying products for 10% to 20% of Retail and selling them for very low prices.

    Everyone seems to think the whole online word revolves around Ebay. Well in the real world only 3% of the worlds online shopping community actually uses ebay. How many millions of online shops and stores are out there making money every day. Yet you people cry because you cant find products to sell on the most oversaturated marketplace on the planet.

    Open your eyes, there is many more places you can sell products you can find from many salehoo suppliers. Didn't you notice ebay is trying to turn themselves into a Fixed price market just like Amazon? Amazon is growing fast and with 30% of ebays sellers leaving and moving to amazon they want those sellers back knowing the money is on Amazon for those sellers.

    So whats the point of salehoo?
    The point is as noted above. You come here thinking Ebay is the only light at the end of the corridor. We teach you to stop relying on infomercial ads and media hype making you think you can click yourself to riches.

    Ive been selling online for 13 years. I have done everything all of you are coming in here quoting you want to do. I have failed more times then any of you have even tried to succeed. If you want success then stop crying because your point to click riches dreams aren't as easy as you thought and study what trends are moving through the forums.

    If I tell you its not a good Idea then you better listen. Many of the senior members are here for a reason. To keep track of whats going on. Pick up on new ideas. Start feasible investments and find decent suppliers for what they want to sell. And to teach you newbies not to make our mistakes. This alone is worth thousands more then your feeble membership fees to salehoo.You can buy list after list after list and you wont find a community like salehoo.

    Hey shirleyjosue,

    What type of items are you looking for? What are you selling now?
    How are you going to sell on ebay (store, auctions...).

    I don't bother with ebay myself but I may have some starter type items (older/overstock ipod cases) coming in the next few days. I basically want to sell them off and re-up. You can help if you like.

    Ebay is only going to work if you can buy bulk lots of items wholesale. Then don't expect a huge profit. Also Salehoo only lists the wholesalers. Salehoo is not who your buying from. Honestly, use craigs list. I do, and my profit margins are greater. Ecrater.com seems to be picking up steam. I haven't been there in a while. But last time I checked they seemed to be doing pretty good. Try out the profit packs here, sell them on craigs list one or two items at a time. You will have made your money back about half way through your profit pack. The best feeling in the world, half of your product sold, knowing that everything else is profit. Also I have used the freebie classified ads. If the item is less than a hundred dollars they let you post a freebie ad for 'free'. Remember one or two items at a time. Also the big box retailers sell Vizio and will beat you every time hands down. Don't compete with the big boys. You will never win.

    I'm about as newbie as you can get. Thought I was reasonably bright but you all just shot down everything I thought I was getting into. I guess I should thank you. The big question now is how do I start the learning process before I waste my small supply of capital. I hear everything I shouldn't believe but not much advice to get started. I am asking for help from those of you who know what you are doing , because I no longer have a clue. Any suggestions. I am fully prepared and expecting to start at the bottom never expected to be rich by the weekend. I'm willing to wait until the end of the month. ( just kidding ) HELLLLLLLLP !!!!!!!

    I would say that is a bit inaccurate, although its difficult to compete with those large retailers. They can be beaten. I get onto mailing lists of 100,000 something people at a time, it produces results. Pretty interesting results and good to measure.

    What I learn in sales most of all is its the content, content, content. Keywords are certainly a key issue, know what shoppers are searching for and have that in your title your resource page and your feeds. Its how every single thing sells so fast & how I complete things to the fullest extent no sweat. Whether its on eBay, or really on any place or on my store.

    It depends on what you signed-up for. This forum can be a great source of info.

    Here is one. FInd out when a local store gets their shipment. Visit the store on that day and take a look at boxes if you can and see where the products are coming from. You can also go around back after hours and look in their cardboard box dumpster for the names on the boxes.

    Then call them up and find out their terms.

    Here is another idea. Work part time at Staples. That way you can find out when they are moving stock. Staples has been known to move stuff at or below whole prices when they are closing it out.

    Ive picked up several items at incredible prices there and I dont work there.

    Before Circuit City went belly up I picked up an Acer desktop for 189 and sold it for 250 on eBay.

    I am also very new to Salehoo as well. I have found that if you search deeper into the website you can find some potential hidden Gems. I have been trying to discover a Niche market and have recently come across something I think has a good potential for success. Another thing is to look for suppliers in china, I've found their prices to be much better and they are eager to get your business and deliver good customer service. As a new member to salehoo I would say it's been a good resource so far and has shown me some suppliers I would've not found on my own.

    So now I am really confused- if Ebay sellers are selling at below wholesale, and Salehoo can not offer suppliers with competetive prices, why even mess with Salehoo, I guess I should just buy from Ebay sellers?

    You can sell on ebay, but not through wholesale, unless you tap into niche market.

    Two sources that provide plenty of opportunities for profit on a site such as ebay are both second hand goods and liquidated stock.

    Those sources can provide you stock that can sell with a much increased margin over any wholesale product.

    Yard sales, weekend markets, even bulk lots being sold on ebay itself can be broken down into individual items to resell back there.

    Liquidated stock will provide you with a more reliable stream of products, and still give you plenty of margin to sell on ebay.

    Now ,the brand name copies cannot be sold in ebay.otherwise you can buy from me then sell in ebay.
