Hello everyone,
Thank you all for sharing your kind advice.
Am new to Salehoo and trying to find good sources of low cost eletronics.
I already have a good website set up with shopping cart and credit card processing etc.
However, the company am dealing with to drop ship for me seems to sell items to me at market price and also charges me a monthly "subscription fee" to dropship for me!!! Am not making any money and I know this is a rip off!
Am also starting to hear about other people who have worked with it longer complaining about damaged/ scratched merchandise drop shipped to their customers!
I have invested alot of money and time to get my website set up and just trying to get my foot in the door with a better dropshipper.
Any kind insights, advice, recommendations etc will greatly be appreciated.
Thank you all.

Want a great place to start selling electronics.

Try ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** They are the largest distributer of electronics in the USA. Period no if ands or butts about them they are the biggest. And they do dropship if you setup a dropship account with them and supply the proper business information.

A friend just showed me a wholsale catalogue from them last week that had a 13inch flip down LCD monitor for my minivan. It was listed for $175, from audiovox. I dont see any listings near that size for less then $375 on ebay.

Hello all,

Must say that the last string of posts have been great, good job everyone.

I use both ebay and my own website.
But like Tiffany said free ads on ebay work great. But the thing I don't like about ebay is all the fees they charge and now thier talking about requiring out of state sales taxes. what's up with that??
There are a lot of other ways to drive traffic that are as good if not better in the long run, and also free.
Just some thoughts

Well really the best way is just to have a gallery picture of the item. And if you can risk it a low starting bid. A very detailed description most items are viewed many times. Almost every item listed on ebay will have at least 20-65 hits or more.

You can also try free auction sites. No listing fees, no final fees, no sign up fees. I have just started listing on a couple sites. I figured it's free so what do we have to lose. I'll let you know how it goes.

You don't have as many buyers but you don't have as many sellers either. I am currently trying to spread out on the net (use auctions to advertise my store)

I always have a good gallery pic,a good discription, etc. Ive been told to list many items at one time, sometimes acouple things will sell and other times I can't give them away.I'm very picky about what I sell, only nice things I would buy myself.Guess I have to keep trying.

Another thing is list at high traffic times.
Friday 5-10pm
Saturday 2-7pm
Sunday (2-5pm best) I think.

Also put words in title of the listings like
WOW, LIMITED EDITION, WONT LAST, GOING QUICK, RARE, UNIQUE (get buyers attention)

Also for members who are not familiar with eBay, there are tons of free articles and resources at ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**

I have found this site to be very informative. Also they have a tool there called "eBay misspelling tool" You type in a word and it brings up all the sellers on eBay who misspelled the name of the product they are trying to sell.

This is a great benefit to buyers, because very few people will see these sellers products all because it was spelled wrong. So now your chances of getting that product at the lowest possible price is much more likely.

Those times are good. And Also
I find I can get heaps more sales listing my items to close on monday thru wednsday from 6AM-8AM. I close many auctions at those times in the morning. Alot of the buyers are canadian but they generally buy the more expensive items too

I am so frustrated! I check out the the prices on these websites from salehoo. I go to ebay and I see the item being sold at a price lower than what the supplier is asking for.Example a supplier sells an item for $17.00 I see it selling on ebay for $15.00. I have been through tons of suppliers and I keep coming up with the issue. Does anyone have any good advice?
Thanks!

Aztec wrote:Hi I have just joined Salehoo, and read your post as a newbie I am enquiring to the cost of using paypal you state that thay charge $30 for a transaction, is that dependant on the cost of the item?

Whoa if it were 30 Dollars per transaction I would be bankrupt.
Here are the current fees:

Monthly Sales Price Per Transaction
$0.00 USD-$3,000.00 USD 2.9% + $0.30 USD
$3,000.01 USD-$10,000.00 USD 2.5% + $0.30 USD
$10,000.01 USD-$100,000.00 USD 2.2% + $0.30 USD
> $100,000.00 USD 1.9% + $0.30 USD
