Question for eBayer not payingQuestion for eBayer not paying I sold an item on ebay for $25 and the buyer did not respond to 3 emails, (winning bidder notification, or 2 payment reminders) Then when I filed the non payment with ebay, they responded and said that they bid on accident and didn't mean to and they don't want to pay or get negative feedback.
Here is his reason "Are you serious i got it for $25. I bid by mistake. i didn;t mean to bid on it. it's not about the money. You can't pull back a $25 bid. I didn;t realize i was actually bidding on it and being locked in. i am new to ebay and wasn't sure how it worked. As you can see from my past buys i would never do this. Don't be rude. Do the right thing!" He has a feedback of 6 on ebay. Any suggestions on what to do? Should I make him pay or should I let it go. Its about $15 dollar profit? Thanks for you thoughts.
Good question...
He might have made an honest mistake. Just hit "unpaid dispute resolution" and make sure he has typed in "agreed to back out" If he was doing this on purpose, I would make sure he pays or just leave a neutrel feedback for purposefully scamming someone and not retracting his bid.
I would let it go just because he will most likely give you bad feedback if you make him pay. Ask ebay to refund your fees.
That's a nice profit on $25 JKKB SWIMMING POOLS and MORE

Yeah just let it go. Its not worth a bad feedback even if its a binding contract and he is in reality obligated to pay nonetheless.

thanks for the imput, I'll let it slide I guess.
I have this happen at least every 4-6 weeks - i just let it go............ or if i dont like them or they were rude i wait till around midnite the 90th day ie last day to leave feedback and slip a negative in so they have no time to leave me a feedback and if it is someone that doesnt use ebay often they dont catch it untill its too late
I have had this excuse countless times. There is no way that you can bid on a item by accident. I simply send them a polite email explaining to them that we do leave negative feedback for unpaid items and file unpaid item disputes with Ebay. I then explain to them that a unpaid item dispute will lead to a buyer strike which could result in suspension from Ebay. I have also found that filing a claim with Square Trade without a moderator (the free one) will also produce results. I never let a non-paying bidder slide because if you do it for one you will have to do it for others. If a buyer that plans on not paying gos through your feedback and sees that you have left negatives in the past for unpaid items they will usually not attempt to do it. If they see you never leave negatives then they know they can get away with it. That's what the feedback system is in place for. Use it!

I have to stress something I feel is equally important, that is do not do it if it has a alternate explanation. There are times when someone will buy something but may not pay right away, because it would be more comfortable for them and easier to speak to you first. And those I understand very well, an order is not fully processed until its processed. In those cases, you call the customer directly and make sure they understand the agreement and the time you will have it shipped by and then have them pay while on the phone with them. This is probably especially true for small to large scale dropshippers...An order is not fulfilled until you have spoken to the customer, answered the questions and then receive payment. If not then, leave your unpaid item strikes. A wise decision which may boost sales alot in some cases.
I dont agree - If i left a negative feedback for everybody that has backed out on a transaction over the years and than they left a retalitory one for me i would have alot of undeserved negatives . Most non paying bidders i have seen have a under 10 feedbback and could care less if you left them a negative .good luck!
Lol you evil evil man. I gotta remember that one  Jimmy

Jmoon if you follow what I said they usually end up paying. I have only had to go through with leaving a negative about 3 times. I still have a feedback rating of 99.8 and I am a Powerseller. I guess it works!
