Buying and Selling Nike, Sean John, Baby Phat?

I am looking for some clarifications on the buying and selling of the top name brand products (i.e. Nike, Sean John, Babyphat). Is it legal to purchase wholesale product from someone who is known the be legit with the big name brands with 100% authorized factory products and resell them for yourself even though you don't have the comp nay's permission to sell their licensed products.
