Forum Home > Selling Goods Online > Top Wholesaler Online - Everyone Please Read.Top Wholesaler Online - Everyone Please Read.Hi guys I am new to Salehoo just joined today in fact!
I do not Sell on eBay in fact I sell on 4 different Australian Auction Sites. I sell on OZtion, AussieBid, BidMate and BidSell Is this a good idea to sell on 4 different auction sites or not a good one? I have a question what is the difference between wholesalers and drop shippers, as you can tell I am pretty new at this? Thanks in advance everyone, Warren aka thefriendliestguy
Hi thefriendliestguy!
Welcome to Salehoo.
That depends. You need to look at the number of sales you are making, versus the management time and what that's costing you. Some Salehoo members just sell on eBay but others sell on a number of different sites like you are doing. It really depends what works for you.
You'll find explanations of each different supplier type if you go into the Suppliers area and click on wholesalers or dropshippers etc. But in a nutshell, wholesalers usually sell in bulk and with minimum order quantities (e.g. 150 unit minimum order). Dropshippers on the other hand, allow you to purchase just one item at a time. The main advantage of dropshippers is that they package and post your order directly from their premises - you don't have to store the stock or package it up etc. So: Wholesalers are cheaper per unit but you have to buy in quantity; Drop shippers will package and post for you once you make a sale which is convenient but more expensive (generally $2-5 extra per unit). Hope that helps :)
So far I am not a fan of ebay lots, especially when it comes to video games. Most lots just give you a couple of good items and the rest is ps2 games or worse old sports games. I will look on occassion, but so far I just see this as being a win situation for the supplier.
I myself have found many lots on ebay that have been profitable. My favorites are ones that close late at night when there are the least bidders. You can usually find some decent deals around that time because alot of your competition is asleep :D

That is very true Jimmy. I myself have made the mistake of closing items at odd hours leading to selling my item for a much lower costs than I should have. I still prefer working with a good supplier, but I will definetly take a look at some lots closing at odd hours.
GUYS, GREAT INFORMATIVE POSTS IN HERE...EVERY NEW AND OLD EBAYERS SHOULD TAKE THE TIME TO READ SOME OF THESE AWESOME POSTS. AWESOME!!
Good advice! I am full-proof that what you are saying is exactly right. After I ran out of stuff to sell (clean out) around my house and office I started eyeing stuff on eBay. I found that I could buy items on eBay for as low as 99 cents and then turn around and sell them for as much as 500% Profit!
I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but it took me a few months to figure out how to find the stuff and then turn around and market them. I found that the folks listing them were doing a poor job. No wonder no one bid on their item. Thanks for bringing this topic up. It's a passionate subject for me. Last edited by waynester*buyer on 07/07/2008 04:12, edited 1 time in total.
Video Game wholesale prices. Can't find cheap enough to make Hi, I have just joined salehoo today. I purchased salehoo to find wholesale suppliers for video games. So far almost all of them I have seen before I got salehoo. Am I missing something here? The ones I looked at want you to join for a fee. I already paid a fee to join salehoo. I don't need to or want to give money to someone else to get not so wholesale prices. I have looked at a few sites and the prices are more than what I could buy from on ebay. PLEASE someone tell me that I am doing something wrong. I have been selling video games on ebay for over a year now and it's just been nickle and dime. Please HELP. Thanks, Mark :(
I am getting frustrated because no one seems willing to disclose a cheap wholesaler. Every one that I have seen is selling items at wholesale for about the same price the item is going for on ebay. This leaves me with no way to make any money on ebay. Will someone please just let me know of some cheap wholesaler?
I'm new to all this too. My question is, why does it make a difference what time you list if you are using an auction for say, seven days.
Re: Top Wholesaler Online - Everyone Please Read. Yes paypal will charge you a fee depending on the cost of the item you sold, let's take an example here, let us say that you sold an item around 67$ paypal will charge you around $2,65..this is how they make their mone but it is still the best way to do business online since it is safe and secure!
Re: Top Wholesaler Online - Everyone Please Read. Geobay,
The reason being is that people will be online at different time during the day...most likely you dont wanna end your listing at 9h30 am when everybody is at work, and it depends on the items you are selling as well..Best time i would suggest is when people are most likely to be in front of their computer like an example..on sunday nights when people are back from their weekend or weeknights.
Re: Top Wholesaler Online - Everyone Please Read. I DO love ebay
