Dropshipdesign!!!Has anyone here ever used Dropshipdesign? I bought one of their web sites and the nightmare began.Once they sell you the site they are of no help at all.I bought in on the 19th of July.Nothing works as it should.I paid $49.00 dollars to have my website submitted to the search engines.some of them I had 48 hours to confirm them and could'nt because their site was down and my webmail didn't work.I complained to them and all I got was one liners, and sarcassam.Sorry about the spelling, but I'm really upset with these people. Now Im stuck with this website and they wont help one bit to get it to work.
Waste of time, money and energy! I read what I think it was wholesale joe said about them, after checking here and thought they were ok....boy was I wrong.
Sorry about your trouble. you should probably just write it off as a learning experience, if you paid a one time fee. If you are paying an ongoing fee for membership and hosting, etc, I would cancel all of that...
The trouble with most of these types of sites is that the people selling these sites are making their money from selling the same sites over and over. Plus if you are trying to sell their products from that site, they are making money as a middleman from those products....You need to be selling your own products, at the prices you can make a decent profit at..Most importantly if they are listing the products for you to sell, then the market is going to be extremely saturated with other people trying to sell the same thing..That is going to cause an extremely low profit margin, if any at all... As I have said before, with any site, in order for it to be successful, YOU have to have control over the site. This means that not only should you be selling your own products, but it's a dire must to have some sort of control over the admin page...The reason for this is that software and programs often develop glitches and such and you must be able to go in and not only fix these things but make changes and add content pages, links, products and such.. Often, even if a "canned" site does have decent support, they often sell so many of the same site, that they can't check all of the sites, all of the time, to make sure that everything is running properly..This is why you must have control, so you can keep the site up and running 24/7... It's hard to build up and gain traffic to your site, and when the traffic does get there and something is not working on the site, most likely they won't be back... Another thing, and this is most important. Anyone telling you that they are going to submit your site to the search engines, and especially if they are charging you a fee,,are just jerking you around... Most of the time, these people, just take your money and don't even submit your site to any of the search engines...And even if they do, it won't make much difference....It dosen't work like that... Your site has to be "indexed and ranked" before it will even start to show up anywhere..And in order to accomplish this, you need to have good content pages (containing good keywords)(and it's better if you don't try to use the most popular keywords that everyone else is using), Next you need to have good links to other sites (try to get some links from sites that have a good ranking) and also you need to ensure that your content pages have good relevence to your product..By this I mean that within you content pages, you use your keywords and describe your product items description, benefits, features and things like that. Don't just try to stick in a bunch of psyco-babble keywords like you see on some sites. Use your content pages to enrich your products, etc.. But you have to do the above things or the search engine spyders will never find and index and rank your site... If you build good content pages and good links (especially good links) the spyders will search and find your site. If you have really good links, the spyders will mostly find the site on their own, which is a good thing... But it will be very hard to depend on whoever sells you a canned site and be sucessful. They are too busy promoting selling the sites(which is where they are making most of their money) to spend any amount of time doing the things to get your site a good listing, and keep it up and running... In addition to the above, try different ways to drive traffic to you site..Use newsgroups, your about me page on ebay, classified adds, exchange links with other sites, anyway you can to get the word out... No, it's not easy, and it won't take place overnight. But it must start somewhere, and you have to take charge and get these things to happen..If you have a problem with something, just ask on the forum, there is usually someone on here with the answer or at the very least, where to go to find out...
Thank for you input,I'm just so frustrated.I sent them a ticket yesterday and told them that something was wrong and admitted I probably did something trying to fix it myself, but because i know nothing about this stuff I really needed alittle help.
They answered me another one liner:The site was fine when you got it. No help, nothing. Thanks for listening.....
That's exactly why I'm saying that you need to dump them and get something that you can control yourself...
If you are going to survive in the internet market place, you will need a good quality ecommerce site to do business with..If you don't have the skills to build and manage a site, then just search around and find someone who can help you..If you can find somebody locally, that will be even better, but there are lots of places on the web that can provide good sites for a reasonable cost.. Also, I know you are frustrated, and you made a mistake..But that's not a bad thing...If you aren't making any mistakes then most likily you are not doing anything...Just learn from it and turn it into a positive... If you need to, try to find a program that lets you build websites and pages, such as frontpage, and practice with that..Also if you don't have html skill at the moment, there are programs that you can use to build a "wysiwyg" sites..(what you see is what you get).. Another thing you can do if you have a limited budget, is go to one of your local community colleges and post a note on one of their bulletin boards..Alot of the students have excellent computer skills..alot of them use those skills to make a little extra money while going to school and can probably do everything you need from building a site, pages,,etc..for a low cost.... Too, just ask on here also, there are alot of members that I have seen saying that they build site, and one was doing a complete site with cart and link to paypal for about $450. Also there is a site that you can put your site job up for bid and the people will bid on getting the job of creating the site..I don't remember the name of the place, but I'm sure someone here can provide it... Just don't give up, there are always going to be bumps in the road,,it just makes the trip a bit more exciting....
Interesting feedback. I'd say if you want to save the time in setting up your own website and locating wholesale products to sell DSD would be okay, but you evidently listed some of the issues with this company so it's definitely not for everyone.
Can you be successful using DSD and their website? Of course you can. 99% of determing your success is understanding how to market and send traffic to it. If you market it properly, you can sell anything from your site no matter how much competition there is. Get a Fully Stocked Website with DropShip Products Today!

gulfy13, Thanks for your great advise, i did buy a site from the same people and yes they try to con you out of more money all the time. I finally opened my own web store where i have 100% controll of who i list and what i sell. Sadly lessons have to be learnt the hard way but we are all here to make money and not get ripped off by them.
Do you know these people Simple Distributors Inc and Arealine? no one seems to know them and i would like some feedback as i am not surethey are Ligit.
It's unfortunate that you had such a bad experience, but for every disgruntled customer that DropShip Design has, there are hundreds and hundreds of satisfied and content customers.
And while I am not privy to your exact situation, I do know that numerous people bash drop ship services online (DropShip Design included) simply because they do not understand how to properly operate and maintain an online retail store and subsequently they fail. I'm 100% with DropShip Wholesalers, when he/she says that most of your success will depend on how well you understand and know how to market your website and drive traffic to it. If you can't do that, you're not going to be successful. A company as large and successful as DropShip Design would not be in business if they didn't have sound business practices and models. If you feel you are not being helped as you should, ask to speak to a manager or supervisor until the situation is resolved. That would be the far more beneficial, effective, and responsible way to handle the situation, instead of ranting online. DropShip Design is willing to work with their customers...you just have to be willing to work with them.
hi gulfy13
i am confused a while ago i put a post up about being scammed by these so called wholesale lists, and guess what a couple of post above this one are the company that scammed me what's going on that this site will allow posts to be written from scammers such as ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** They scammed me out of 100's dollars and refused to give a refund when they said they had a 100% refund. So why are scammers allowed to post on here. Is it getting that bad out there, that we have to let them in here to scam others. cheers darryl
I belong to dropshipwholesalers. I bought their website pkge and was not at all satisfied with the reliability or stability of the system. Got them to refund my website price by saying i would still keep my regular membership. They have some useful info and some suppliers I dont find here. Their website is not very stable. I also had a dsd membership which i didnt renew in march because the site is fully automated but you only have generic control over content of it. Before i would buy the dsd website i would look into their auction setup for e-bay instead. However their prices wholesale cannot compete with e-bay prices. profit margin is small if any
I've always been a big opponent of any kind of dropshipping. If you listen to anyone who has been doing business online for a good amount of time, they will basically tell you the same thing..Dropshipping is a very good way to kill your business. As a seller you need to have control over the products that you sell and with dropshipping you just don't have it. Also there are so many competitors selling the same product that it kills any kind of profit.
And often times you sell a product only to find out that it's out of stock and then the customer blames you, not the dropshipper and you get stuck with bad feedback. Too most dropshipping companies are just middlemen who have to mark up the product after they buy it, so you are not really getting a wholesale price. Another thing that hurts is you have no control over the quality of packageing and shipping. Often dropshippers will skimp on packaging and the item arrives damaged. Again the customer looks at you and not the dropshipper. Also the item may not be the exact thing you see listed in the catalog and the customer is looking at you again... I think that salehoo screens suppliers pretty much as best they can, but it's easy to slip through the cracks..It's easy to provide all the correct info to get listed and then alot easier to not stand behind what you promise to do.. The best thing to do is to file a complaint with salehoo when you get scammed by an approved seller. If they get enough complaints they will get rid of them... When I first started out I tried dropshipping and quickly learned most of it is just scammers. Luckily I had people willing to coach me along to help avoid most of the scams that dominate the web. You just have to learn from your mistakes, and yes, sometimes they can be costly, buy just accept it as a learning lesson and move forward..If you are not making mistakes, then you probably aren't doing anything... People who shop on the web are nomally impulse buyers, people looking for a bargain, people who don't live close to large shopping centers and people who work odd hours...These people can easily become your steady customers if you are willing to provide them a quality product and a decent price. And if you stand behind your product, deliver it in a timely manner and back all of that up with good customer service, you can do quite well... Try to stay away from all the hyped up fancy-smancy hot products and search for "everyday" products. These types of products hold a much higher profit potential than do electronics, designer goods, etc...If you do want to sell in those catagories, then search for the accessories to those items. The accessories make very good "nitche" markets...However, everyday items are much easier to aquire and stock, they hold their value, and most importantly provide a good profit return....
hi gulfy 13
that's right you have to have control over what you sell. Me as a seller on-line i have a wide range of stock here to sell and are at a reasonable price and my seevice is impecable, i belive once a customer has paid for there goods i package them up and head straight to the post office for delivery. Why should they have to wait a week or so to recieve them. So for me it's good product, with good communication, and good service, at a good price. cheers darryl p.s. guffy i was refering to the whloesale company that ripped me off why should they be aloud on here SCAMMERS.
Yes aussiebares, I agree with you about the "wholesale" scammers, and I was refering to both dropshippers and especially the so called wholesalers who seem to slip by and sale on this site. But it's just easy to present false credentials and get listed. That being said, I always recommend doing some research on any company before you actually spend any money with them..Here are some good sites to check with before you buy.. and in addition always do a "whois" search as it can give you some good inside info about the company..A main item that I look for when doing a whois search is the date that the site was established on. Alot of times a scam company will say they have been in business a good many years, but if you check the establish date you will often see their sites only been up a few months..That's a good indicator that they are not honest, and if they are not honest about one thing, the probably are not going to be honest about most of the rest.. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** (really good to check on dropshippers) ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** (good source of tips and tricks for spotting wholesale and dropship scams) ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**
Most of those sites are definite scam artists and if you saw something that seems wrong at dropshipdesign chances are you're right and need to stay away.
Some of the worst scams around appear legitimate. Check the detailed review ratings for any wholesale website you find and that will keep you from having an issue.
