Hi everyone. I was trying to get a New York Reseller Certificate and they ask that I provide Certificate of Authority #. Is this an EIN #? If not, can you tell me what it is and where to aquire it? Also, do I need anything else to buy from wholesalers and sell online? If so, can you guys tell me where to aquire these things?

No it is not. Its kind of similar to a certificate of existance. Or proof of your role in the business. You will have to file for a certificate of authority with the state of NY if you wish to aquire the resellers permit. Try visiting these site for more info.
