ok this is what happened.. i found a guy selling iphones for a very cheap price on facebook marketplace, so i asked to buy 1 iphone from him... it turns out he lives in britain, and he asked me to make 300 $ money transfer using western union and stupid me, i actually sent him the money.. a day after he calls me up and tells me that he actually sent me 3 extra iphones, and he asks for more money, and ofcourse i say NO..i ask him for the tracking # to make sure that the item has been shipped. he gives me this site: ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** which says that 4 iphones have been shipped.. and after a few days i find that the site ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** is actually a site that u can open an account with and create ur own website... which means the shipping site is actually a fake made-up site created by him...also i received an email from the site telling me that my item has been stopped because it has been placed on embargo by the custom officer and that i havent fully paid the seller, and that it cant be returned to the seller because it has to go to its first destination which is my place. now i havent told him yet that i found the site to be a scam.. actually i told him that i would pay him the rest of money in 2 days.... i dont know what to do to get my money or if there is a way to get my money back.... and one thing i found was that he has posted his fake products everywhere, not just on facebook, if u google search this number "447045762595", u ll find 10s of sites where he has posted his site and been scamming so many people

i have his cellphone #, and i recorded some of the conversations we had on the cellphone, and i was thinking to use this somehow to threaten him to give me back my money. also if i can, does any1 know of a way i can report him (is there a site where i can report this kind of problem).

The one thing i want to find out is his real name, when i sent the money to him through western union, i sent to the name he told me to send too, but do you think western union checks for id before they give their customers the money??? would it be his real name?

I would advise you to contact ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** and visit ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** And file a complaint with Canadian authorities there. They are basically your internet crime division in Canada

You should also pull all the data from the emails you have been sent . This can actually be tracked right back to this person if they are not smart enough to cover their tracks properly.

Do they care if you scam someone?

How about the police, does WU give out info?

here is a question for u guys, i hope someone who knows can answer it for me.. when some1 sends money to a guy with a specific name using western union, will western union actually check the guy's name and id before giving him the money?...If u know the answer please reply back

Yes WU check the full name of the person that receive the money with an ID
