I dont think there ever is a great choice for a good president. Its a big job to fill But I dont think anyone can screw up our economy any worse then it is already.
I personally do not want hillary in office. She has already proven to be too emotional for the job. The last thing we need is an emotional wreck in control of our military lol . But I do agree on the views of both parties on a complete gradual withdraw of our troops from Iraq. We have been there too long. and its time that the government of Iraq Stepped up and handled their own security. Jimmy

McCain's not running anymore? LOL
looks like my plan for world DOMINATION may be a possibility
Obama is definatelyl out for me. Hillary may be a little emotional but that is not always a bad thing. At least, she has somewhat of a christian background but I must say, that Obama's religious background scares me. As you know, our country was founded on Christ and when that component is left out, our country goes down the tubes. Personally, I wanted Huckabee!!!! He He!!!!
He doesnt get much media attention lol. Jimmy

Actually, the country was formulated with the idea that church and state would be separate. In fact, the first amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…". You might be confusing the fact that many people came to the Americas to escape religious persecution (such as the Pilgrims) but the founding fathers clearly wanted to separate church and state.
That may be true but I'm glad our money still says in God we Trust and the Pledge of Allegience still says "One Nation under God" and if you will read God's Word you will find that any nation that has turned their back on God has fallen and we are in danger of the same thing. So my thought was that if I were choosing someone to run the nation, I would certainly look at their religious background; it concerns me that Obama will not say our pledge or put his hand on our bible. What else will he not do if he is elected? I realize that everone has their own thoughts and that is ok, but this is mine!!
I'm with you "shirlsshopandship" in your ideas of God. We HAVE turned our back as a society---- and I could really go on and on about the ramifications of that... but this really is not the place. If you do not agree, just pick up a history book and see how EVERY great nation has fallen. It is no coincidence.
Obama is so "cookie cutter". He reminds me of a Jr. High schooler running for class president. Promises promises. What's next? Free vending machines in the offices across America!? He is sooo smooth it is scary. However, I really do not think Hillary is the answer either. I'm voting for Jimmy. 8)
I just thought I would inform you of obama`s religious background. He is a christian ,although his father was of muslim decent. From somewhere in the mideast I think His mother is white midwesten american from Ohio
This is an excerpt from barack`s book about his religion
I was not raised in a religious household. For my mother, organized religion too often dressed up closed-mindedness in the garb of piety, cruelty and oppression in the cloak of righteousness. However, in her mind, a working knowledge of the world's great religions was a necessary part of any well-rounded education. In our household the Bible, the Koran, and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology. On Easter or Christmas Day my mother might drag me to church, just as she dragged me to the Buddhist temple, the Chinese New Year celebration, the Shinto shrine, and ancient Hawaiian burial sites. In sum, my mother viewed religion through the eyes of the anthropologist; it was a phenomenon to be treated with a suitable respect, but with a suitable detachment as well. As a child in Indonesia, Obama studied for two years at one Muslim school and then two years at a Catholic school. In both places he experienced religious indoctrination, but in neither case did the indoctrination take hold: during Quranic studies he made faces and during Catholic prayers he would look around the room. Eventually, Barack Obama abandoned this non-conformism and skepticism to be baptized as an adult in the Trinity United Church of Christ. The United Church of Christ emphasizes the freedom of the individual conscience over adherence to creeds or hierarchical authority. This is similar to traditional Baptist Christianity and something that is honored more in theory than in practice when it comes to the Southern Baptist Convention. Several historical creeds and catechisms are used by the United Church of Christ as statements of what their faith, but none are used as "tests of faith" which a person must swear upon.
It looks like this thread has turned into a religious discussion. Ok I’ll bite. Actually, this first amendment you’re referring to restricts the government from interfering with religion - not the other way around. Any person, religious or otherwise, has no less right to be involved in government the way they see fit. And yes, this law was intended to end religious persecution because of the oppressive law of England which did indeed have religious laws. There is no mention of “separation of church and state” in the Constitution. By the way I do not favor Hillary or Obama. I'll take Jimmy.
This country was dominated by christianity, not founded by it. Just because you move somewhere and make everyone live the way you want them to does not mean that your word is the only word. Remember, there were already people living here long before there were christians forcing thier ways on others.
There is no one right way for people to live. As for Hillary, she lies too much. ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** Caught on tape telling lies. And you want her to run our country.??
