I was just wondering if liquidators was the best way to go in general. Any experienced sellers out there, do you deal with liquidators all the time? What about any of the new guys including myself,Do you guys know what to do yet?
I just want to know if buying in bulk or in lots is more profitable than wholesale companies. I dont have much experience but i'd just like to know and i'm sure any of the other new guys like myself would like to get the lowdown on starting out and getting to know a few things about liquidators and such.
I would appreciate any comments from anyone whether positive or negative.

with liquidators you run the risk of getting a real bargin that's a hot seller and than once you sold out of them you can't get anymore. Plus they send you things that you did'nt order because what you did order they ran out of. So in saying that liquidators are good to pick up a one line maybe a repeat line of goods at a good price. As for wholesalers you have to becarefull you don't get burned buy buying fakes to sell on ebay, ebay will cancel your account for breaching policy rules. But in saying all of this do your research into wholesale and remeber the one golden rule IF IT'S TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT;S A FAKE STAY AWAY. Also beware of wholesalers and liquidators that require payment thru TT or WIRE TRANSFER that's where you run the risk of paying for your goods and you don't receive them, and you lose your money.

Actually buying into liquidations is a very good way to make money on places like ebay. You can buy very good High quality items. Even customer returns has great value. I have bought and sold many truckloads of liquidated Stock.

The main risk you have when buying liquidations is who you are buying liquidations from. I have purchased from many liquidators and have found that all of them choose to cherry pick the good items off of the load and give you a high majority of damaged items.

Lets day you buy a pallet from a liquidator. It shows up and you see this huge gaylord loosely filled. This is a high sign that the liquidator already took all the good items off the pallet and left you with the scraps.

Yes you can find some good items in it but. Ask yourself this. What didn't you get?
You may get a bunker that has 5 or 6 dvd players in it. Most retail from $20-$79

So ask yourself this. Where are the Dvd players that cost $199-$249? Where are the higher dollar items worth over $150.00? Where is that $400 Recliner or Dresser that is worth $300.They are gone arent they. Its because your average liquidator takes what they can sell on the side then gives you what they do not want to mess with.

This is a common problem. My company deals with liquidated stock all the time. We are a Broker and we do not work as the liquidators do. We buy direct from the Retailer in Volume and We make our money by volume sales. Pushing large quantities of stock out the door fast and charging a small per pallet fee. We do not remove any items from a pallet.

Also the above statement about wire transfer is partially incorrect. Yes scammers use this method. But the majority of Liquidators use this same service. When people buy anything over $1,000 or if they buy truckloads from me they have to pay by bank transfer. Why? Because im not going to pay my credit card company 2% of a 10,000 purchase. And also I have to file paperwork on any transaction over $10,000 to the US government to adhere to laws built around the patriot act.

My advise is to order small. Review testimonials. And check up on the company before you buy.

Just to elaborate a little bit more. Does anyone have any information on companies NOT to deal with because of previous bad dealings? Or perhaps some companies I may want to purchase liquidated items from? Any input would be appreciated.

I personally have had mixed results from most. The 2 worst had to be Pallet Guys from Surplus.net and amlinc
I know that there is supposed to be mixed item on loads, because cust returns can be in any shape but I was told by these companies that the worst I would see is 15% damages. I actually recieved over 45% damage from amlinc.

What I mean by damage is what I had to throw away. Not Items I could Fix and resell.

Pallet guys sold me a whole truckload of garbage. 80% of the load I threw away. I had to rent a 30 Cubic foot dumpster to toss the crap they sent me.

We dont use middlemen or liquidators. I personally wont remove any items from any of the loads or pallets. This is a promise we stand by because we have been a victim like many others. We do however only sell pallets on products we have in stock or we will take a preorder on a pallet for the next truckload.
