Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON.Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. Hi everyone,
I'd just want to warn everyone that if your a seller on Amazon be very careful what you sell. Here is my situation: About (3) months ago I sign up with Amazon & started selling just a couple items, I was selling a CD Burner that I bought at a good price. I sold this item in a few days for about 20.00 bucks ea. I was so impressed with the traffic & the fast selling that I decided, wow this is better than ebay fast & easy. So I started to list software & my sales went through the roof. 3k in a month. Until a few days ago it all came crashing down. I listed some Academic software because I saw every body else listing it. Than a couple of days I got an email telling me because I was selling this type of sofware that my account was cancelled & my money that I had pending to be tranfered to my bank account would be held for 90 days & its over 3k, Yes just like that NO Warning, nothing, we are going to keep your money for 90days thats it. At least on ebay they yank your lisitng & warn you but not on Amazon so be careful what you sell. Just thought I would share this with some rookies that are thinking of selling on ebay or amazon be careful with your wording & discription & the stuff you chose to sell. Thanks John (aka bacpro)
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. Thanks for the warning.
I just listed some stuff on Amazon and sure could use any advice at all about it. I really haven't heard much about the in's and out's of selling there. What was the problem with what you were selling? Did they give you a reason? Jack
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. Ya what were the reasons?
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. Your not allow to sell any OEM, Software, Academic Software, The description of your product has to be exactly as thers. If someone buys your stuff & if its not as described they will return it & you have to give them a full refund. ON Amazon The customer is alway right, even if he's wrong....Be very careful if your selling Software, they have people that surf the listings that check the vendors. Sometime they even make a purchase to see if what was listed fit the description.

Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. The reason they are holding your money is if your buyers complain about your software they have the funds to refund the buyer. Its not like paypal ripping you off for their own reasons. You did violate their rules and they are protecting the buyers. Its unfortunate but you will get your money back.

Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. Yea, for 90 Days....Not much fun waiting.
And I see other vendors selling this kind of software & they seem to getting away with it, O'Well lesson learned. John
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. The lesson learned is that the other "vendors" selling it may just be simple wholesale sources who you should report for abuse of overbilling and try to get as many of them shut down.
I've dealt with Amazon alot. Basically selling anything besides Windows software, OEM software, Computer software, things that obviously the *corporation* does not want to be pirated or copied gives you a free pass. You can sell anything as long as it doesn't violate the terms. Too bad about Amazon too, I will let their poor policies come back to bite them. I'll tell people to boycott their sorry services and they can just buy direct from me, somewhere else, just how life works. And if they resist, I wouldn't mind if the place went bankrupt. I hate smarmy corporations who act like they can push you and do whatever they want, now you have fire to deal with.
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON.
Have a question for you. You mentioned that you've delt with amazon before. Has your account ever been suspended & how long to be reinstated if ever? thanks John (aka bacpro) su
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. YOu can always sell on liquidation.com they dont care about the buyers their no matter how many cherry picked or bait and switch or decieving ads you may display (referring to stripped ipods that get near retail mostly!) they grab there $200 commission or 15% and they are happy no matter what you do....
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON.
Seems shady to me. I wouldn't brag about ripping people off. And they do refund money because I had over 600 refunded after some shyster tried to scam me. There are more than enough ways to make money than by ripping people off.
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. You have to follow the rules of each site. The ones selling the oem software are probably licensed Microsoft dealers and have the cert to prove it.
Congrats on the nice income stream you made. Just wait it out and do it again. Are you permanently banned or can you still sell? Also, you can sell sealed oem SW on eBay if you include some piece of hardware. Usually a stick of old memory.
Re: Be Careful If you selling on AMAZON. Has it been suspended nope, because I purchased some more stock from Amazon.com directly. They never suspend me.
Amazon's policies are backwards **** to be honest, and you are better off selling only hard copy items like games, music, appliances things like that. Don't bother with digital items or computer software and they don't become a problem. As for where to sell those items well I just do it directly through my store using ioffer.com or anything like that such as Craigslist. Everyone needs to stand up and forget about eBay!!!! The days of some truly ****** backwards eBay monopoly are long since over, don't sell with them at all unless its just some niche item. If I had a choice and not 4 feedback rating with Bidville I would have transferred to Bidville now. Bidville is getting tons of traffic now and these places list all your items for 100% FREE period!!! Over at eBay their traffic has slowed down a whole lot, their policies suck, they will no longer let you sell any digital items of any type- and generally they are just bigoted *****les nowadays. Also its a lie they receive the most targeted traffic that place is becoming dead-- the only way I even sold my things is to bring everybody to my listed items using my online store- meaning thousands of people. Forget your blue star, bronze star or whatever else they bribed you with. Just forget it, transfer all your seller ratings elsewhere & start doing things the old fashioned way. Also if you want to increase your success of selling anything offer to ship it worldwide and drive the traffic to your store yourself, that's what I basically do even at atoncer.com -- It always works. Thanks and good luck on Amazon everyone!!!!!!
