Purchasing from other members

Hi guys,

I have been speaking with Salehoo member Yanjun re: iPods which he has had a lot of interest in from Salehoo members. Go to 'Most wanted' forum for more info if need be.

In our e-mails in the last 20 mintues or so, I explained I was new to the Directory and that I am very cautious, obviously because I don't fully understand the import process and haven't actually imported anything into the UK ever!

I want nanos from him, but said the only way I am comfortable paying is by Credit Card (my credit card is a Mastercard) which is very secure from my point of view and his.

First of all is this correct when he is based in Australia and I in the UK?
Also can I actually loose money paying by credit card as I know that my particular card provider allows me to do a 'chargeback' if I don't receive the goods in a reasonable timeframe. Its called 'raising a dispute on a purchase', and can be done anytime up to 120 days after the card purchase transaction date and means Mastercard (in this case) actually put the money back on the card on this instruction - this is definate for my card in the UK (I have confirmed it with them over the phone), but does it apply to USA and Australia etc?

The reason why I ask is that Yanjun has told me he is setting up a credit card facility - obviously very interesting! and has e-mailed me the links to the sites with whom he is thinking of doing it with, which are below:

Would you guys, advise me on this? Are the above sites good, and do I still have the built in credit card protection (explained above) with these sites??

Sorry! this is a long post, so thank you taking the time to read it, and of course any help and advice most appreciated.

Easy,

Are you buying or selling? The two links
are credit card merchants that allow you
to accept credit cards via your own website.

They will be chargering to accept credit cards
monhtly and per transaction...If you want to accept credit cards for merchandise your selling the best thing to do is start with Paypal first, its free. Monitor your sales and if sales are good then get the service of the credit processor mentioned. remember if you sign up with these credit card processors you'll be paying a monthly fee, even if don't sell anything....

When I first starting selling online, I got signed up for a credit card processor rightaway, but went for months without sales and I finally relized that I was paying for service that I did need...So I canceled the service and now just use Paypal , AlerPay Neteller...free.

I'm buying from this fella Yinjun who is going to set up one of these credit card facilities so it is secure for me.

Do you think that sounds safe?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

My paypal account has been limited due to large volume of sales. Therefore, I'm planning to sign up for other credit card merchant as I do not wish to delay.

Thanks for posting about alertpay bacpro. Have you been using it for long? How good is it?

He's trying to broker a deal to hit his supplier's MOQ, but has to have everyone's payment first. I believe his thread is in the Marketplace section. It's a great idea if you have a secure method of payment, but I personally prefer to order from someone with stock on hand.
