"Ebay" spoof email, Beware!

Post jodiear 05/05/2006 09:24

Hey, that's a great post! To help make people aware never to click on those sort of links in any emails, even if they do look authentic.

Always go into your account via your saved favourites link.... to verify anything you're not sure of.

Cheers

Ebay has its on email system that you can access right from your Ebay account. Never reply or open anything outside of Ebays own mail service. This was established mainly to protect its users from spoofs like this.

Another scam to be aware of ... the emails from PayPal stating something similar to the "ebay" message.

2 big giveaways ... something will be misspelled in the heading and the name and, even if hidden, you can just hover your mouse over the "click here" and read the real url of the destination.

It also helps when the email that receives this junk is NOT the email that is assigned to the paypal or ebay account!!!
