Hi,
I want to import things like apple ipods direct from china to Canada. Can some one tell me where to start ? what do I do ? I need to know what the steps are to getting a good source, and the business requirements to ship them here to Canada legally. Thanks Everone !

Amy, I too am new here and checked out the blog page you suggested. There is info on importing to the US, the UK and Australia/NZ but nothing that I can see on Canada. If anyone can point me to a good article that gives an overview I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Importing those goods are more difficult than it seems.

Watch out !!! China is loaded with fakes and frauds. Even though some of the real stuff is made there. Think about companies like wal-mart, best buy, etc. They buy in superbulk, and Glug Glug alot of the real stuff.

I'm from Canada, and have been importing goods from china for awhile and I can say the government will tax the hell out of you if you don't play it right. I still have not found a good supplier of real stuff from china.

Reaserch every little nook and cranny on who your buying from..PLEASE !!. Google, whois, scam sites. Search them all before buying.

Only use secure payment methods which are covered from loss !!!.

NO WESTERN UNION, BANK TRANSFER, MONEY ORDER, or anything that can be taken freely with no exchange of goods.

Check out SmartChinaSourcing for how-to articles on sourcing from China, cultural differences, etc. Nothing there specifically about sourcing into Canada, but plenty that you might find interesting.
