I'm debating on whether I should wait in line on opening day to buy one of these. Are these going to have a high resell value on them like the xbox 360's did? If so, would you be smarter to wait till Christmas to resell it? Any tips or opinions would be appreciated.

oh this will have the highest resell value of them all. but be prepared to kill anyone who is in front of u in the line. seriously, there's like 5 to a store each in America. most of which are all taken from preorders already, i suggest bestbuy since they don't take preorders.

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone know how many PS3's stores like bestbuy, target, and walmart are going to have? Also how early should you get there to wait in line?

With that in mind, watch for the scams people!! You now know the market of the PS3, and you also know the availability. Make your judgements wisely. Order from a supplier you trust, or buy in the store yourself.

There are already people waiting in line and the release date is not until the 17th. Yes, this will be big if not bigger than the 360 and I would expect to see people willing to pay out big bucks for these on Ebay from the 17th until Christmas. I had success last year by going to a small town Wal-mart that is not a Super Center. They did not open until 7am. There were no lines and I went straight to the Electronics Dept. and got one with no problem. I am hoping for the same results this year as well with the PS3.link hidden WHOLESALE LIST

you know what i've found strange? from what i've heard from people being in these preorder lines a while back. almost all people going for the PS3 wanted it just to resell on eBay with some exceptions. but with the Wii it was quite the opposite, almost all wanted it just to play instead of sell on eBay. and might i remind you all both preorders sold out within hours and Wii had 10X the amount of stock.

I've got some friends already waiting in line at a small town walmart. I gave three of them each one of my credit cards. So I'm going to get 50% of the profit from (3) PS3's. I can't decide if it would be better to sell these right away or wait until Christmas?

I sure hope that they do take those cards... Walmart in Houston has cracked down and they ID everyone in my area with a credit card.

What you could do is make sure you are awake at the time and make sure they have your phone number so that they could call you can you could arrive at a moment's notice to thier location. The odds of them all being questioned about your id at the same time are quite unlikely. If the worst happens, the odds are that you will have to go from place to place as you are needed, one after another. But if the worst should happen you need to be prepared to arrive there at a moment's notice. I would call all 3 of my buddies to determine who is the closest person to the register. Then prepare myself to be at that location first, then the next closest second, etc.

I dipped into my savings and bank wired all three of them enough money to make their purchases just in case the credit card plan falls through. I would hate for them to have waited 2 days for nothing!
Hope this helps!! And most definitely I hope that you do not have to do all this!!! However if you do I hope it helps!

Rgr that sir. I would sell them in a way so that they arrive before Christmas in time. Also the research shows that most people buy on Sunday, so you might want to make sure that your listing ends on a Sunday. Also make sure that your shipment arrives on or before Christmas! Hope this helps ya.

yes sunday is good. also keep a hold of them for a few weeks, chances are that most people will resell on eBay asap, an then once xmas rolls up demand for the sold out PS3s will be higher and supply will be low. this is where the prices go the highest

Thanks for all the advise. I think I will end up holding off on selling them until about a week before Christmas.

I heard that Ebay is only allowing a person to sell one at a time and you have to have a feedback of above 50.
