E-commerce websiteAnyone know any places tha tmake professional full e-commerce websites for under 3,000?
I hear Sitesell was good. But theres a lot of tools that you can use to make your own for WAY under that price and still make it look good and professional. yahoo webhosting offers a service where you can set up a shopping cart and accept payments online. They also give you a huge selection of templates that you can choose from or you can create your own. I believe that this is the best way to go so that you can create your own content and have complete control over everything on your website. If you do make your own content try using Wordtracker.com to search for good keywords that people use to find your products. I am sure there is a lot of services that make e-commerce websites, but theres a lot of maketing things that they may or may not be aware of. It's not just the design of the website, you also need good content. Well the only other advice I can give you is to KEEP IT SIMPLE and don't try to make your site too fancy, because people are looking for ease of use and easy navigation, and the design isn't too important. Also whatever it is you are trying to sell be SPECIFIC, as specific as you can be. Don't try to be everything to everyone, choose one niche and stick to it and find a way to stand out from all the other people selling the same thing. Well I hope some of this helps you out. Good Luck!

Loooong time since I chased these down, but I am pretty sure you can get them for free, linux or windows servers. google for "Open Source" or "free" ecommerce scripts.
Most have some content management as well. When you find one you like, get a host and upload the scripts. Biggest issue is the merchant bank connection. IIRC, paypal may even have links to some, with the banking set up to run via paypal. Edit: Getting one written from the ground up can cost around the 50k mark! Someone I know paid that.
I could hook you up with a good ecommerce site for a very decent price.
pm me if you want more details. I develop sites/marketing/jointventures etc. Also if you're looking for an easy solution check out the site in my sig. Thanks. Money making website that really works - AS SEEN ON TVClick here to make money!
I work fo a web development company. Our base price for building a cart is $3500 The cart we use is x-cart but then we customize the cart to look like your website I am building one for myself from OS Commerce which is open source. Most of the web hosts you see out ther now that offer $7 a month hosting also have an SSL package for around $35 a month. Those running on a Linux platform using cPanel will offer OS Commerce for a shopping cart. With the new Credit Card industry standards coming in to power now, I would have to suggest using Paypal or Authorizenet SIM transactions. Any means that doesn't store CC numbers in you cart. And if you have to (manual transactions) erase the CC info as soon as you have processed the payment.
You can purchase a full blown full e-commerce websites with shopping cart for 160 dollars...Dont be fooled by these other people......the average cost..and I am talking a high end one..not a plain simple one...runs about 160 dollars and about 6 dollars a month to host it on a server using PHP... If you need more inform..just give me a shout.
