Ebay Dropshipping - Help?Hi, I've been looking into drop shipping for the past two years or so, and I'm finally getting serious about it. My only problem is with drop shippers, I find an item that I like, and that would sell - The only problem is theres 10 other people selling it for $5.00 or more less than I could sell it for and still even make a penny profit! Help?
That's one of the main problems with any type of dropshipping. The market is too crowded and the profit margins are too low to make any type of profit at all....
Keep in mind that there are hundreds and hundreds of sellers using the same dropship site, selling the same products. You can not expect to compete in this type of marketplace... You should probable switch your efforts toward finding and buying "liquidated, surplus and closeout" goods...When buying in this type of market you will be able to buy the goods to resell for literally pennies on the dollar and way below any wholesale or dropship price... The people that you see selling for 5 dollars below your cost are either buying their products in large "bulk" quantities or buying them through liquidators...And more than likily they are making a good profit on their items even selling cheaper than you are.... It's much more cost effective to purchase in bulk,(if you have the capital) and even better to buy a pallet or "small lot" from a liquidator or surplus seller... Have you thought of craiglsist for your dropshipping products, I tried it and it was successful for me even though Im in the uK.
Interesting, but how can you dropship off of Craigslist? Are you just using it to send traffic to your website?
I have found that sourcing (buying) items from liquidation companies selling on eBay is a great niche also. I literally find 99 cent items and turn around and sell them for huge profit.
Most folks do not know that companies like Sears, Sharper Image and others are selling their closeouts and liquidated items right there on eBay. The fun part is finding them. If anyone is interested in the subject I would be happy to pass on what I have learned. Hope this helps, Wayne Larimore ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**
