no other auction sites don't have the traffic as ebay does. But if things don't change soon i will be trying some other sites to sell.

im in melb, yourself?

i havent sold on ebay for a while. Looking for that elusive niche, like the the rest of us. :-)

when i did, it was mainly laptops, but my sources have dried up.

would try my luck at anything. Thinking about dropshipping, but believe its too risky, and dont want to get robbed

hi
i reign from brissy, so you sold lap top why don't u try another souce to get more of them or are there to many people selling them now. I sell lingerie and swimwear, jewllery. Did great before xmas and now it has grinded to a near halt i can't put my finger on what the problem is i have good quality items, and 100% feedback rating, prices are very reasonable, but i don't know what's going on. After xmas and the start of the new year it has been a struggle to sell goods on ebay.

maybe its all that bad publicity its received on local current affair and news.com.au

where approaching winter, so maybe swimwear and lingerie are a no go for the aus public.

where did majority of buyers come from?

Are other's still doing well in your category aussiebares or is it the entire Ebay AU drying up?

To be honest (and I live in the U.S) although traffic has been down since the boycotts, for some reason my sales have increased in frequency and generally for more money in all different categories. (even the ones I don't sell in anymore I see improvement)

This may because a lot of very large power sellers are leaving Ebay to start there own websites or moving to different sites due to Ebay changes which leaves almost the same demand but a much lower supply.

Hi i been a seller on ebay for a year now and this would have to be the worst ever..I have over 50 unsold items now..Nobody is buying..And i do think it has a lot to do with the bad publicity ebay has been getting...I have no idea what i am going to do now..I dont want to keep relisting my items the fees are killing me...Im actually thinking of opening a stall in a large shopping center just to sell what i have....Ebay need to pull their finger out and see what is happening..I for one as im sure many others will not go back to ebay until it goes back to what it use to be...

hi reginadp53
i agree something has to be done on ebay's side to turn this around. Let's face it if it does'nt change, there will be a lot of sellers that will shut up shop and go elsewere, or go under.

Hi, I am new to Salehoo.

After reading about eBay in the forums, I am slightly discouraged. I still want to start an online business.. But Where would you recommend to host a site? Yahoo, Amazon, etc.? I do kinda like eBay, because it does drive alot of traffic afterall.

Does anyone still make that "profit" off eBay anymore?

Hi,

I too have noticed Ebay dry up, and relisting all time its hard to keep up with the fees, Seen on ACA (Aust) and they were saying fees were going up on their also. I have moved over to Oztion.com.au, but have only made a few sales, but I think its alot more also to do with our economy, and all the interest rates rises etc.
People are finding it hard to survive, prices going up everywhere as fuel costs, but no pay rises for the every day worker. I know my family and are finding it hard, as due to an injury and can no longer work, like I use to.
So I started selling online. I have made my own website, but not sold anything there as to date. Still learning the ropes, not always easy. We are thinking of maybe going to the markets etc, but I guess all we can do is keep on trying.

Have noticed in the forums there is alot of frustation the way Ebay is going, people are even talking about boycotting it all together and closing their accounts.

To the person mentioned dropshipping, i have also used this method in the past, with some Aussie Companies, have had a pretty easy time with them. if anything went wrong they usually rectified it with 48 hours, and my customers were pretty happy. Have never tried overseas dropshippers though. :?
But there is quite alot of other sellers using the same companies, you just have to find the right product at the right time.
