Starting out on eBay but in NZHey! Just letting you guys know, that my shipment arrived from DHgate, and it came straight to my door. Didn't pay a cent.
However, this may be due to the $5 USD declared value that the seller put on the invoice, a little cheeky, but it may have saved me from paying extra, so thanks to him. Cheers, Tom
Good stuff mate...cheeky???? i dont think so, i find that 9 times outta 10 most people i deal with suggest to me or just send at a lower value with out me sayin a word so yeah its all good...i dont ask them to but i do let them know how 'gratefull' i am! see no evil hear no evil LOL
Hi, After logging in go to 'Profile' and towards the bottom of the screen you will see the Avatar Control Panel. Just 'browse' your machine for the photo you want to upload and don't forget to hit 'submit'. Any problems, please let me know by PM or on the board. Kind Rgds. toffee.
Hey guys, Sorry i havent been around,
As for the customs things its pure luck that you have had some parcels come through without being charged. I use to get 1-2 parcels a week and they do note down how many you recieved to which address and they will pick up on this then you will be charged with taxes and stuff.... just something to be aware of. It doesnt matter the size and price of the parcel its all very random with the way they do these things at the moment, Ive had some parcels come through at 500NZD and not been charged and had some come through at 50NZD and been charged. Just something to keep in mind at the moment. Nic nic@0tnic.com - msn & email
Nic,
Thanks for that, it is good to know for future reference. Perhaps I should start getting things sent to friends? Cheers, Tom
Yeah i suppose they would have to keep an eye on them in some way, but so far so good i've had 12 in the last 1.5 months from only 3 difffering suppliers with out any problems...so far..lucky package number 13 is due any day now so we shall see what happens!! any kiwis here sell on Trade Me? any tips n' tricks... my user name there is the same as here not for self promo just lookin for helpfull advice....i'm off to get a pic for my name...later
let us know your T/M zillion user names if yall like
my user name on trademe and zillion are the same as well. no tips to give, in fact, i have to find another item to sell. I was considering both what you have the bling bling and the zippos. will still be looking at those too. looks like your doing well. what are your profit margins like???
in all honesty, the small things ive sold, ie jewelry and playboy blings and watches are the only things that ive profited from. the cloting , at a loss. any tips for me too!!!
Hi im from NZ also and am trying to make an extra few bucks. I have not imported anything as such yet but have been buying and selling on Trademe for a while. mcpd is my username and if you want a decent second hand or new ipod then look me up and you will probably find one. I am looking to broaden my horizons and import something from overseas. Could someone suggest any good selling things?
Cheers
Hi P
Welcome to our 'kiwi' forum. youve come to the right place to help you with what you want to do. check out the sites that salehoo has given. Also, for us kiwis, check out dhgate and also ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members**. Ive been buying from here a lately. I make a night each month to buy a couple of items for awesome prices! (i do this to combine the shipping) SOme handy little tips Find out what your looking at importing and check the market where you will be selling the items to make sure that it will be profitable for you. Remember when importing, take into consideration the shipping costs as its really high and can almost not be worth importing. also check out ebay wholesalers aswell. Ebay has just changed their shipping cost rules so the costs now have to be legite rather then the high, unbelievable costs they had. As youve probably read throughout this forum, join up with paypal. safe and i reckon the only way kiwis should pay internationally. remember the customs info that yourve read throughout this forum. of course you already knew this P but just thought i might throw this out cause i havent visited for a while! Good luck!!
Hi thanks for that tumtum1. I have been looking on ebay to get some things wholesale as they can sometimes be very cheap. But instead of buying from overseas (as i am still not really comfortabel with(nearly been scammed too many times)) i know that there is a ebay new zealand website but i do not know how to limit the search to just NZ sellers. Could someone please help me out here.
Thanks guys
Hi P an others, have'nt really had a good chance to look around e-bay NZ but i definately love e-bay US i've actually found thing's cheaper in the long run than allot of wholesalers...mind you that's only for the item's i'm selling i'm sure it would'nt work for everything.I personally at this stage wont bring in any more bling i just seem to have problems with it...it allway's get's bought but i allway's have trouble getting payment, not on zippo's or anything just Bing for some strange reason!!!! Allot of what i sell would be better suited to the market type scene say in south Auckland an that could be my next avenue. One small bit of info regarding trade me etc that i've learnt in the last little while....IT'S A GAMBLE! one week i could sell a specific zippo at for example a buy now of $60 an then the same lighter at $30 S=R will sit there for weeks! WEIRD allso advertise the best you can i even write my user name etc on the dust on the back of my car! and it's worked at least twice that i know of, it stir's peoples curiousity an they gotta know what your selling....oh yeah an the dust is free
Hi guys
Wow, I didn't know there were some many New Zealanders on here! I'm also in NZ. I sell on TradeMe as well, and I've been having a bit of luck lately so it all seems to be working out. I joined ** Link Removed: Only Available to Registered Members** because they have helpful advice specifically targeted for TradeMe, as well as a few New Zealand wholesalers. I too have found that sometimes Ebay is cheaper than buying through wholesalers, depending on what you're looking for. I've found the most success so far in finding products that are rare - so many of the items on TradeMe like cellphones and stuff are such a saturated market. Becase New Zealand is so small, it's not too hard to find stuff that is popular overseas but we don't have here. It can be a bit of a gamble guessing what's going to be popular here as well, but that's my strategy. (No specifics of course :) ) I'm pretty new to this whole thing, so any tips are welcome, but go NZ! We rock! :)
