Wholesale prices and selling on eBayWholesale prices and selling on eBay It has become very clear to me that all the items I have been attempting to purchase wholesale show little to know profit unless one moves a huge amount. I was wondering if there was a different wholesale pricing for sellers that require a task ID/sellers permit versus those who will sell to anyone. Dropshippers are proving to be of no real help in terms of profit margins. I am sure that it cna have alot to do with the item catagories (i.e., quality sporting goods, electronics and tools or whatever makes more than $5 buy the time it is done!

A little insight into the dropshipping business. Unless you are able to move a huge amount of merchandise every day you wont make any kind of money. Remember, these dropshippers who offer their merchandise at "wholesale" prices have to make money too as they are doing all the difficult, time-consuming work for you. Dropshipping is basically the easy way out of running your business and doesn't give the users much room for profit. Do some homework and try to lean more towards buying your desired product from the right supplier and doing the grunt work yourself. It may cost you some time, but could earn you some money in the end, which is why we are all here. Hollatchaboi6
Thanks for the info! I started looking into wholesalers rather than drop shippers and even auction liquidators (new and returned stuff), I have yet to find a product that was either of interest or even seemed "hot". I check completed item listings and low and behold.........no profit except for a few bucks on shipping or the ocassional auciton that goes a bit high. If you are doing well....how? Any other tips you may wish to share?
To be honest I have not yet begun selling over the internet as I am just beginning to research myself, but after reading through the SaleHoo forum and checkin out some of the members' great advice, as well as looking through various sites myself, I found dropshipping is not exactly all its made out to be. Store retailers make their large money because they deal DIRECTLY with the company who makes the product and buy in large quantities to sell at larger prices. Auction sites are a way for potential buyers to buy the same products for a cheaper price, most of the time. So how do we tap into this market and make money?
The hardest part of any business is coming up with the money to start, and being able to make profit that is worth your while. Check the liquidators like those found in the SaleHoo directory daily as new products and great deals vary day to day. Today you may not find anything worth buying, but tomorrow you may find exactly what you are looking for and turn a great profit. Personally I would start there to come up with some money that will allow you to afford to buy the product you wish to sell. Just look at the liquidation products and then check out how much they are being sold for over the internet, you may be pleasantly surprised at how much money you could potentially earn very quickly. ANy business takes awhile to really get going. In order to get better prices you have to buy larger amounts of goods. Most prices are negotiable. In order to get good prices you will often need to speak directly with a sales rep. I said speak not communicate via internet. Sometimes it works but it is best to register with the company first. Also when you help out sales reps they will often help give you better pricing. Well sometimes. I have a few mean ones. lol . Don't rush because when you do your will often end up in the name them or shame them section. Take your time and please research the companies. I suggest dealing with American companies to start with and than looking overseas. A small loss of 5 grand can destroy a start up business. The laws in other countries are also very different. It takes lawyers to help complete big transactions and contracts.
IF YOUR NEW TO EBAY AND WANT TO FIND THE BEST WHOLESALE PRICES ON CLOSEOUTS AND LOTS. ILL TELL YOU THE NUMBER 1 PLACE TO GET THEM. AND ITS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BUY IT ON EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PICK THE CATEGORY OF WHAT YOUR INTERESTED IN BUYING AND PUT THE WORD "LOT" AT THE END OF IT IN YOUR SEARCH TEXT. Trust me im a POWERSELLER with over 1,000 sales in the last 4 1/2 months and I bought all my products on ebay. Buy in bulk ,sell what you can then sell the excess in bulk to keep from taking a loss. Its so Simple its sad to see the answer is starring you right in the faces. AND #1 rule "STAY AWAY FROM ELECTRONICS" I went from 20 feedback to 500 feedback in less then 3 months. Ive been an ebay member for 2 years and ive searched high and low for great deals. But I spent 2 years searching in the wrong places and buying useless lists only to find the products I could sell were in the same place I visited every single day. EBAY !!!!!

Right now me and my wife are selling on yahoo,ebay,ubid,amazon and about to move into msn auctions. We sell dvd movies. And sports related products on ebay and clothing on the other auction sites. Almost all my products I sell on these auction sites come from ebay wholesale auctions. Honestly ebay is better at aquiring good prices then any other site due to the fact they sell way more items then any of the others. One tip though. If you sell on ebay dont buy all your products on your selling account. Open a second account that youll use just for buying your wholesale products. Because a smart bidder working against you notices your feedback rating and see's that you buy alot of a certain Item.. They will most likely give up knowing that youll fight to the teeth to get the win. Giving you a better oppourtunity to take the auction at a lower price. Its a tip I recently learned after I became a powerseller and visited the powersellers forums. Hope this info helps alot of people. :D Were not rich but were generating a steady income of about $1,200 a month just off our ebay sales. Id prolly be doing ten times better if my wife would stop blowing all the profits using my paypal card :?
