    Hi catherine,

If you are buying from a supplier who is also competing against you on ebay, then you are in a no win situation. They will always have the price gap on you and be able to take you out of the market.

I assume we are talking about drop shipping here, and if so your only options are to find a better priced supplier that can afford you to compete, or look into other products where there is a better market for margin.

Apart from those options, you would be left with looking at other supply channels to get yourself an edge, such as wholesale, liquidation and so on.

The biggest limitations are you own imagination in this game catherine. The more creative you can be, the better your chances. Now I know you're in Australia I'm guessing you were dealing with someone like OO.com or DealsDirect, both very well known for back trading, but it's a very common theme these days with many suppliers.

Not actually sure what I did to bring that result around catherine lol, but it's great news, so whatever you did, do lots more of it lol

If you have the ability to get out and about to source stock I always suggest looking at the second hand resources you have available. Places like garage sales, weekend markets, car boot sales, thrift shops and so on.

The second market has always been strong on ebay and it gives you a chance to develop a lot of interest in your store, should you have one. Dealing in second hand products will always keep customers coming back to see what you have as your stock profile is always changing and you're creating variety for your regulars to keep coming back.

It's a big advantage over drop shipping the same old products, once a customer has purchased there is no real reason for them to come back unless you do happen to have another product they want.

P.O.D (Point Of Difference) is one of the big keys in any business. Giving your customer something that no one else is, it's what you build your whole marketing campaign around.

This is what makes us different, and this is how it benefits you!

Second hand always give you a strong POD over a drop shipping. Of course another huge advantage over drop shipping is price you can source your products for. Yes, it does mean that you have to spend some cash up front, but not a lot. You take 100-200 with you to some garage sales, and if you can talk a good deal and buy smart, you can double that money at the very least.

The better deal you can talk, the more margin you can make on your outlay.

BIG tip, hit the high end suburbs for stock. don't ignore the lower socio-economic areas by any means, but you can find some big ticket items at insane give away prices in the higher income suburbs around town. : )
