    eBay TIPS wanted

    Hello everyone,

    I have lashed out and joined Salehoo yesterday. I guess I try different things to try and make money. I'm from Australia and have noticed that the Aussie dollar is down. Pretty good if your a yank.

    My question is;
    I have read somewhere that you can look on eBay somewhere to find the top 10 searches of items that buyers are looking for. Does anyone know how to do this?

    I'm happy to take any tips from anyone who is willing to share some.

    Marketing surveys have found that strong black can be quite strong on the eyes, but dark grey is much softer and easier to read, meaning that if you have a very detailed copy, your potential customer might just stick around to read it!

    How is that for a somewhat bizarre, but interesting little fact!

    I would go on, but tennis on the box so time for me to relax for the evening.

    I think that is the first time I have ever heard anyone on a forum speak about psychological edges to your auction listings!

    Fudjj you are truely a maestro!

    I will add my two cents, grey is good - green is just as good also. It depends what you are selling though. For example a year or so ago we were selling elmo live, I don't know if the market was like this worldwide but you couldn't get them anywhere! A few sellers were selling them with dodgy looking listings, sort of just thrown them on there.

    We used a red listing template to correlate with elmo himself and found customers drew more to us because of this.

    There are also many little techniques out there, low end selling worked quite well.

    Time could be up for the small sellers however as eBay introduce pay per click to sail them through the recession.

    A few eBay tips I have learnt on the journey:

    1. End all your auctions at night and on a weekend if possible, as that is when most people are at home surfing the net, and not working.

    2. Differentiate yourself from others however you can (description, picture, price), don't be the same as other sellers as you will get ignored by potential buyers.

    2. Have very good customer service at all times, even when somone on eBay asks you a question and the answer is on the first line of the description (happens more than you would expect!).

    use mpire to see all info on time and what day etc. its free also i use it myself with good results plus i use complete list on ebay and do as the same as the highest won auction but DO NOT COPY It. I tweak it to my style.
