    eBid problems

i need to rant about eBid for a second and maybe get some advice.

a few days ago i signed up for eBid paid for a seller+ account and listed one item soon after i find myself unable to login and they were wanting me to upload some documentation a valid ID and a utility bill so i uploaded my ID and then emailed them because i do not have a utility bill in my name or my business name and they would not accept anything but a utility bill but i uploaded my certificate of DBA a letter from the IRS and a letter from my bank all with my name and my business name and matching address but yet this is still not enough for them they have refunded my money for the seller+ account and are giving me no choice but not to use them. i linked my ebay seller account with them through repatoo but because i only have one feedback with my ebay account that is not enough it is positive though and i am just trying to get started online

In my opinion i have provided plenty of evidence that i am indeed a legit seller and if this is how they are going to treat new sellers they are no better then ebay in my opinion any suggestions?

Looking at their FAQ and ToS my opinion is -- if they've refunded your money, walk away. What a load of nonsense. I particularly love the conversational and condescending tone they take on their FAQ page, a surefire indicator that eBid will never really get off the ground. Do you think a serious operation like Buy.com or any of the other major names on eBay would open up a storefront there?

You want a real laugh, plug the domain into Compete.com and/or SpyFu to get a glimpse of their traffic data.

Also, to pull back from my rant a little -- when dealing with a customer service department that can only read from a script, this should always throw up a red flag. The documentation you say you have available is about 6x what most other sellers on eBay/eBid/eTc have or offer; since each piece you sent them is verifiable then it shouldn't be a problem for them to consider you verified for all intents and purposes.

How will eBid handle multi-brand outfits (like mine -- I have one set of employees running multiple selling outfits under two roofs, with different seller accounts for each.) By eBids terms and your experience, I couldn't do that. How will they handle sole prop businesses, which probably don't have utilities in their DBA? How will they handle sellers who operate out of flea markets, and therefore have no business utilities of which to speak? Trying to put a uniform rule on that, and then simply summarily rejecting attempts to clarify and verify your identity, just smacks of unprofessionalism on eBid's part.

Also, YSE shows <500 links sitewide hehehehehehehehe.

    No, no more ranting. Sorry.
