My store, Jackaxemarketing has been up for about two months and I have only had one sale. I sell consumer electronics - Portable DVD players, Camcorders, Digital cameras, computer components, and a variety of other electronics. I have been submitted to search engines by a web marketing firm. They setup all of the Meta tags and such to accommodate the search engines. My hits are picking up, but I'm not getting sales. Is there too much competition in this market? Am I being too impatient? Would anyone reading this like to take a look at my site and give me some feedback or comments. Is the site attractive to potential customers. Any suggestions to get some sales?

Have you tried setting up and selling on eBay? Also you may want to advertise in free local classified newspapers. They tend to get good responses and also these people usually pay more for goods than people looking on eBay.Have you got your own online store yet? Check out our latest creation, SaleHoo Stores!

Thanks for the reply SaleHoo. I am posting on eBay and Yahoo auctions. Having mediocre results, some sell, some don't. Between eBay and Yahoo, I have about 8 auctions going. Anyone else can offer any insight?

hi :) just afew ideas, doesnt mean to say theyre right lol and please dont take offense. the name really doesnt sound like someone selling electronic goods, just a small thing i know but all these little things add up. maybe youre spreading yourself too thinly, youve got alot of gear there,if youre selling on ebay use diff user names so it looks like youre specialising in one area and know your stuff.have your digital cameras with any carry cases, printers etc,car stuff on another, try unique package deals if you can do them, perhaps you could have separate web sites also,i know thats a pain in the ass but id rather buy from someone who deals in one area and believe they know something about the product.i also like to see some good pics of the products, real ones and from diff angles showing all the detail not the usual pasted from somewhere else bland effort.i also took afew of the products you sell and searched google, didnt see you on the first 4 pages and most ppl arnt looking past there, perhaps try google adwords, find out abit about web marketing yourself and how to get better ranked, plenty of free stuff out there,iv waffled enough :)

So you paid a web marketing company to create your meta tags and submit your website - What else have they done for you? Sorry to say that just those 2 things alone will not get you noticed in the search engines at all. You need to create traffic from other avenues such as free ads, blogs etc. Your site also needs to be content rich for the search engines to give any kind of ranking that's worth having, unfortunately your sites doesn't meet that criteria. i just ran a search on the first 4 of your keywords on over 20 USA search engines and I am afraid to say you were not picked up on any of them as yet.

Ok well im being brutally honest here because I think thats whats needed. Im busy designing my own website not to sell things, but to act as a marketing tool and im asking for feedback off people and saying to them 'dont worry about offending me, I want honesty' thats the best way to get things right.

Design a layout that covers the width of IE or FireFox. So your pages arent so long and the text is spread out across the pages better. It may just be me, but I really dont like web pages that have a bar on the right of noting, but solid colour. Its a waste of space I think. There is a reason for some of the wasted space on the right side of the screen... Most designers who know what people want, design their sites for 800x600. A lot of people still have this resolution set for their computers. You must use a higher resolution (so do I) which is why you get the blank space on the side. Web designers (myself included) feel that it's better for people with higher resolutions to have some blank space on the side (or sides if they chose an auto-centering) no matter what the resolution), than make people with 800x600 have to side-scroll every page.

Hey Jackaxe, Here is a 'copy and Paste' of another post that I made about getting traffic to your site and search engines. You will find some useful info in it, especially since you mentioned 'meta-tags'.
