i'm a worthless idiot

I have been trying to find products to sell on ebay for over 2 years. NOTHING WORKS! no dropshipper, no wholesaler. high fees, high expenses, tiny to no profits, nothing works, no matter what i do. i have accumulated so much debt, i have defaulted on all of my credit cards and loans. I have spent countless days and hours, researching, emailing, listing, etc... i have no friends, no life, this is all i do...i cant even find employment! because so much time has passed since my last job. i am either over qualified or underqualified. i have no money, i am in so much deep doo doo, and i have only myself to blame. why cant i find anything to sell for a reasonable profit on ebay?? why cant i do anything with my life?? am i really just a complete and total moron? i think i am.

dont feel totally bad dude 90 percent of all ebayers fail to in the first year it takes alot of work. Ebay is hard when it comes to making a sale due to the fact that it works as a wholesale. You cant beat urself up due to the fact that it doesnt really help anything. Just ask your urself wat you like the most out of products or what you do the best and then try to promote it . Can I ask you what products you try to sell on ebay. And remember ebay is not the only option. As eveyone will tell you theres craigslist you can sell with no fees which is awesome. Theres amazon, theres tons of sites that can make you profit. What do you sell or try selling?

I don't think your worthless because you keep trying where most people give up. That means you believe you can learn from your mistakes. Ebay used to be great but lately it has really sucked for me. I'm not dropping my ebay store but I'm using salehoo to learn how and where else to sell on line.
I can't work a regular job so on line sales is my only real choice for solid employment - just keep reading and learning - you can do it!!!

You only fail when you fail to try! Keep at it. There may be stores or businesses in your area who have back-rooms full of unsold stuff they would love somebody to sell for them. Take a walk around your area - think outside the square - not necessarily retailers. Look in your local yellow pages. Ask all your friends and family if they know any business that would benefit from selling off their unsold or out of date items. Out of production items sell on eBay because people can no longer find them if they want them. I once asked a local retailer if he had anything in the back that hasn't sold and his face lit up. He gave me access to twenty four boxes of clothing items - shirts, ties, jackets, suits, trousers, coats. He was glad to get rid of them, I sold them still in the boxes after taking pictures of the items and he gave me 50% of what the items sold for. It was over a grand to me! Easy little earner and the guy was pleased to get some storage space back. Also, I sold all the boxes in a period of two weeks. I'm still selling for him occasionally but haven't had a windfall like that again.
Every time I go out now I keep my eyes and ears open. You never know when an opportunity might present itself.
Also, have you looked at purchasing liquidation stock? That might be the way forward for you, particularly if you have limited capital. You should try PPWDG for small lots to start with. Best of luck and NEVER give up!

a chronic health condition. I work online so that I can work while accommodating the illness. After a bit of trial and error, I found a realistic schedule that I can maintain.
You just have to keep adjusting and trying new things until you hit the right stride with your products, your sales, and your time.

Listen my friend... one of the best kept secrets I have used for selling stuff on eBay is this, it is so obvious it really doesn't make sense. I walk retail stores like Target, and Meijer (they are local in Michigan). I walk their back end caps where I know they place all of their clearance merchandise. I know that the mark down process starts at 30% off and work their way up to 75% off until they are pulled. Some of the time it is useless. But most of the time, especially in the electronics department, I have found some really great deals. I have gotten to know some of the associates. And they have let me know about the mark down process. It is great after the holidays. Big box retail chains are famous for over buying. I have gotten a lot of products this way, and have done really well. You will also come across mispriced product. It is rare, but Michigan law says they have to sell it at the marked price. I am not sure about every where else. Also watch what is selling and what isn't on eBay so your not falling behind a trend. Flash drives, video games, all kinds of items are always great sellers as long as you can get them at 75% off. I have watched and learned their markdown process. It may even vary from store to store. Even the products change from store to store. Example Target sells Nascar stuff. The price they sell it at is already pretty low. I know that when Nascar season ends it will all go clearance to make room for new product, or a reset. I buy as much of the product as I for 75 to 90% off and turn around and sell it on eBay. I live near a major university. I have found things on Craigs list that a student just wanted to dump to get a few extra bucks and not have to move it when they leave the dorms or apartments. I turn around and sell it on eBay, or on my own website, or at the flea market. You have to know through which media you will have the greatest profit margin. I usually always watch products on my eBay that I know I will find when I am out bargin hunting. That information will give me an approximate idea what is in demand and what price I should look to pay to ensure I can make money after all the listing fee, and charges eBay and paypal lay on me. That's exactly what I do Lewis. Wait til the new season's merchandise is going to change & I get some awesome deals too! It takes some time but it's the thrill of the hunt!

Do free research on terapeak for completed auctions and then for suppliers to ebay selling do research and then go to

1. link hidden , link hidden or link hidden. Ex. Coach handbags or just concentrate on mens wallet and belts.. or dog leash... there is a whole lot to choose from. Ex. Aeropostale, American Eagle, Gap, Gymboree, Ralph Lauren store, Pottery Barn, Movado, gucci,Fendi sooooo many stores. you can call before going in to make sure they have what you want. Almost all Coach on ebay is from the outlets. always check out the coupon book online. if you go to the service desk at the outlet you will have to pay for it.

2.look in your local paper, Lord and Taylor always has coupons.. go to link hidden for other name brand stores check out the offers.

3. go to stores like Target, Tj max. Ross, Marshalls or Loehmanns, Costco, Ollies. Do not follow the hurd. just because everyone is selling electronics you do not have to. ex.do a completed listing search for all clad it is a popular kitchen category?People pay up to 2000 for a complete set. even 600 for a used one. They even will pay 200 for a wide skillet... if you go to tjmaxx or Marshalls 0n any given day you will see pieces of what used to be a set. a skillet here and double boiler there. use your imagination. I have found Croscill beddings, dooney and bourke, coach and lucky brand bags, tarijuku and rl totes at tjmaxx as well. they also buy loads from american eagle and coach.

4. Thrift shop- during winter time I buy sweaters and rl clothes and resell on ebay. I purchase them at 3.49-5.00 and start my listings at 9.99.

But in the mean time while you build your business and need in coming cash do the following.

1. Go to link hidden sign up as a guide and get paid for your answers . you can create your own schedule and paycheck. It works.

2. link hidden - hires work at home customer service reps for pizza hut, home shopping network.. free and is legitimate. Is a process but well worth it.

3. Join the ebay affiliate network, free, Ex. concentrate on one topic. rolex watch. Get a site set up and write articles and submit to directories. Also have your website indexed by the search engine directories as well.

Is there a particular day of the week that most big boxes do their resets still? I used to manage a Home Base store (chain like home depot) and we did most of ours on Tuesdays for some reason. Just curious. Thanks for all the help!!

I know that coach and and some outlets store reset on thursday. Always call to find out when the next sale starts. I always go on that day or duting the week . the largest sale for coach is in rehoboth beach on 7/4/08. Start the process with westathome and sign up for chacha.com

I am a newbie to selling and learning the hard way about ebay and paypal fee's. There is so much great information in this post. I am a stay at home mom, and with gas and daycare prices there is no way for me to work out of my home. We are struggling and I am trying to find ways to make some money to help make ends meet. I am starting small because I can't afford to buy upfront. I found some dropshippers I like and will try, but mostly selling things from my home. I know from past experience that if I don't stick with it, I will get no where. But I have also learned that I can not shell out money I do not have to get going. That is why I am in debt. I tried so many HBB's that required monthly purchases and such, and those just do not work for people who are already struggling. For those looking for the perfect Home Based Business, I do not believe you will find it in the hundreds of thousands that come up when you do a search on the net. Steer clear of those that want money upfront and each month.

You are in the USA so much wholesalers what are you doing. im in down under and buying from the US wholesale. Best word of advice study ebay whats hot and whats not and buy wholesale. Now dropship is too much everyone is doing it go wholesale my friend.

If anyone is looking for small amounts of high end women's apparel (ie, Flax, Tribal Sportswear, Russ Berens, etc.)or shoes, I have small lots of these periodically - they are all boutique liquidations/closeouts....no damage though...check them out here.....I have tons more and can tailor an order for you...such as only plus sizes, etc...

Artpants, if your am idiot, I am an idiot too! I have been selling stuff on Ebay for years now. Sometimes I make a few bucks, sometimes I don't. For the past two months I have been trying to find another way to make money from home. I am a Cha Cha guide, which pays very little, but it is income. And it is fun most of the time. I belong to a group on Yahoo which is always posting great jobs, none of which are in Michigan yet, but I go there everyday to see! And now I am a member of Salehoo..and I am reading everything I can about selling stuff. Read all of Ebay's education materials, read all of Salehoo's education material...it in invaluable.
