Excellent post! It goes to show that in this business the importance of R&D (Research and Development) cannot be stressed enough! Always remember to calculate everything, from beginning to end!

P.S. I vote this to be a sticky, its great advice and I'd hate to see it get 'lost in the sauce'.

Great post but the problem is that when you buy wholesale lots on ebay, there are a lot of interested people and a lot of bids. So you almost end up paying the same amount as at a whoelsaler.

Well just as on eBay I have seen lots on liquidation.com go way above its value on eBay. But it seems everyone always goes back to ipods lol. I have never seen ipods go that low on liquidation.com but I have seen them go at a price where you stand to profit $30-$40 bucks on them.Wholesale Directory by SaleHoo

sounds like pretty solid advice to me. I also like buying cheap items to start and barely making a profit or even losing a small amount of money to get ebay ratings. Ratings in the long run will help with other items.

I see no mention on doing Drop Shipping. I don't want to be overloaded with ideas. Just want to get my footing and start off as a part timer.

I don't have my own website, but I am very interested in selling online. Does anyone have any suggestions for newbies like myself? Ultimately, I want my online income to replace my job income. For instance, should I get my own site or sell on eBay? Any suggestions for good places to get a website?

I have been trying to sell on ebay for the last three years, and always give up and then go back to it. Can never get products cheap enough so i can profit.Ebay and paypal need to be fed, lol. Now Im out of work due to medical problems and have to try again. In the past Ive sold costume and real jewelry. If i list a diamond ring ,there are thosands of diamond rings. How do I get people to look at mine without breaking the bank on fees?
