Tricky customer, not falling for it.

    Hi

Got a mail from qxl, norwegian auction site. That a customer named mrs elna martins. She had questions about a camera i sold.

Did give her the info and she replied back that she wanted to buy it for 300 NKR over the bin price and even pay for postage even though it is included in the bin price.

I told her i only ship to paypal adress if not inside norway.

I told her to go back on QXL and buy the camera there.

Her is the last answer i got from her:

am not the receiver because am presently in greenland ,so i cant
receive it,if you want to sell it to me then i will pay the post
office fee for the shipment and perhaps my qxl account just got a
problem because my husband changed the password and now cant remember
the password code,so i cant bid from qxl anymore..so if you are
interested then you can send me your paypal address or full bank
    details

Smell scam all over it. First post goes to greenland and if u don`t remember the password ask for a new one.

I never send to an adress that is not as the same as the paypal adress.

    Sincerely

    Steinar

Classic scam, well picked : )

This is a good old fashioned Nigerian scam, a true classic that has been around for longer than I can remember lol

This particular scam is usually aimed at small electrical goods type goods, such as your camera. Those that have been selling mobile phones for any length of time may well have come across this scam before, they love targeting mobile phones!

Easy way for members to pick a Nigerian scam, they never use the words "I am", they will start everything with "am"

Don't waste your time communicating with them, unless you're board and you feel like entertaining yourself by wasting their time lol

It is a scam alright :) Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Steinar!
It's great knowing that you know a scammer when you meet or talk to one...

Your experience may come in handy for those who have just recently ventured to online selling.

    Cheers!

eBay is a biggest place to get these type of scam. However, recently I was ALMOST got scammed by an Amazon buyer. Apparently, this buyer registered his username as Amazon_Service, he emailed me and asked to send an item to his address, he forgot to mention what the item was plus he stated the order will not show up in my account as they (amazon.com) encounter some technical problem. I suspected that why this order does not show up but others did. I look at the email where it came from...it link hidden which is a typical buyer email address when they try to contact you to more info on an item. I reported and he got busted! So just beware! Look for whole email address and not just the title or subject line...good luck to y'all!
