Webstore.com - Your feedback and help needed

Hi everyone does anyone sell on Webstore.com? I know I've seen some postings here but I was wondering if anyone has a recent experience with them to share. Sorry to bother everyone. I am thinking of selling some books, dvds, and other items on there. I need an Ebay alternative as well. I have listed things on there and sold the but they hold the money in Paypal for 21 days. Now that being said I know they want proof that you mailed the item which I have. I even used Paypal to print the postage and still they hold my funds. That being said I am wondering about Webstore.com any help would be appreciated. Thanks folks and have a great day.

    Hi WPGerace1971,

It seems like PayPal holds is something to be expected on Webstore.com as sited in this review - link hidden where buyers are encouraged to use PayPal for payments.

Sorry to hear of your present circumstances, hopefully this can help you cope with the payment hold - http://www.salehoo.com/blog/coping-with-paypal-payment-holds

Please note that the hold is initiated by PayPal and not Webstore.

Have you tried Addoway.com or Bonanza.com as an alternative to eBay? If you haven't, I recommend you check them out for yourself. For more alternatives, you might want to check out the list on this thread - http://www.salehoo.com/forum/selling/auction-sites-11152

Hope everything works out, all the best!

Hi there I don't think Webstore does paypal holds does it? I believe only on Ebay the way I understand it. I was wondering how traffic is lately and would I have a chance of doing ok here I am verifed on Webstore just not sure if it's worth it. I really do want to do this but I can't afford to have payments held each time. Sorry to bother you I appreciate any advice you can give me. Much thanks.

    Hello again WPGerace1971,

As I mentioned in my previous post I think the holds are initiated by PayPal and not Webstore.com so if you offer PayPal payments there is still a probability that at one point or another your payment may get held.

Roughly a 100k visitors per month, based on the 103,264 Alexa Traffic Rank over the past 3 months.

Webstore also placed second on Auctionbytes' Sellers Choice award - link hidden

Hope this helps a bit. Cheers :)

I'll just chime in here quickly in regards to PayPal holds, as there is some level of confusion among a lot of new PayPal users.

Paypal works independently of eBay, the holds it places on funds are based on their own policy, and therefore can effect any user regardless of the site they have the PayPal account hooked to. We hear eBay used a lot, but that is only because almost everyone uses a new PayPal account when first using eBay.

It does suck, no escaping that fact, but it's a road you have to travel if you want to establish a PayPal account for future trading.

I'm not going to get involved in which site you should or shouldn't list on, that really is person business decision for yourself. My suggestion however, is to weigh up the benefits in listing against not listing with any site. That will usually answer your question.

@Marc: Thanks for chiming in :) Appreciate the help!

@WPGerace1971: Based on the recommendations, yes Webstore does seem like a promising site but with no prior personal experience it would be difficult to give you a 100% recommendation.

I have given you links to reviews and posts siting a few experiences, I will leave the decision to you.

Like Marc said learn to weigh the benefits and you'll know the answer to your question!

    All the best :)
