Hi yall, I just started selling on ebay, my third auction just closed and the winning bidder lives outside the United States. I stated clearly in the ad I would not ship outside the continental 48, and also I would not accept payment from international bidders. What should I do? I have already told the bidder to not pay until we get this all figured out...any advice grateful...

Just be polite and tell him you don't do what he asks.

If you had actually SET your ebay auction to not accept any bidders outside of the USA they would not physically been able to place a bid. In fact what you did was state that in your description but didn't set your ebay auction settings to match. At this point you can refuse to accept his payment and perhaps use the 2nd chance feature to the next bidder down. If there is no other bidder then just re-list the item after you've corrected your shipping option.

Yep I agree with cbcdave. Just send him an invoice with your shipping charges & see if they pay you. If the charges are too high they may want to cancel the transaction. In that case you for the 2nd chance offer with another bidder. If not it's off to the post office you go!

For right now I only want to ship in US until I get a little more experience on ebay, later I will ship international. I sent the bidder a email to cancel transaction, havent gotten a response yet. If he doesnt respond I will relist the item.

On your eBay account, click on 'Site Preferences' then click on 'Buyer's Requirement', then click 'Edit', then click on the square which says 'Block buyers who are registered in countries to which I don't ship', then click Save =) I hope this helps.

The buy it now option used to be down the page a little from the description frame on the opening listing page, I assume it still is but also haven't been there for quite a while!Marc Ransom

Just download turbo lister on eBay. It will be so much easier listing items and all the options you want to include will be there.

If you had this clearly in your auction. Then yes you have a stupid buyer. This happens and there is not much you can do but make an arrangement with them or try to mutually cancel the auction.Wholesale Directory by SaleHoo

Easy, quick and cost effective way of getting feedback is by buying 9 or 10 rubbish items for 1 each or something like that.Marc Ransom

Many International buyers cannot read english well .. i will say this i triple the international shipping rate due to risk of loss and make $200-400 a month off the handling fees alone .

Be carfefull on a new account, if you buy too many items $1 or under you can get your account suspended for feedback manipulation been hearing alot of it lately may want to buy some shipping supplies to mix it up - ...ebay started cracking down on this from i have read .

Another cheap way to get feedback boost is to sell personal dvd movies. Right now ebay is a total pain. If you have 1 bad customer out of 30 and you've sold very little that month that one buyer can screw your rating. A good way to bump it up real quick is to drop a bunch of dvd movies on quick auctions. Ship them terribly fast and eat up the positives on them. Ive done this a few times myself if I don't list too much in a month and have a bad buyer experience on a item and they left me bad dsrs.Wholesale Directory by SaleHoo
