    Secretive Wholesalers...Please share your suppliers!

    It seems like everyone who has a supplier is never willing to share them. I've seen hundreds of posts of people boasting how great their connect is but when you ask them anything about them they act like its treason. I thought the Salehoo forum was about gathering together to find sources. There are millions of people selling online anyway so its not even like the few people who you help on Salehoo will put you out of business. I just think the Salehoo forums should be about helping each other and not just a place where people ask if suppliers are fake, because almost all of them are.

    Well, that's simple.... That is because all these successful people took years to find the right supplier who they can trust and make money from. I mean, lets be realistic here. You can't just ask people who they buy their product from for resale because most of them will tell you NADA! I found my supplier who I use now to make a profit on ebay and it took me two years of hard work to find it. Salehoo is here to help new members but not to the point where they will share their most secretly supplier who they make their money from because of COMPETITION.

    To be honest, it's not so much about the supplier, you need to find the right market in my opinion.

    If you can find the right item to market, then you will be able to find the right supplier.

    I know there are a few here that have spent a long time finding their supplier, but I seriously doubt in today's online world if there are any hidden suppliers out there that most of us don't already know about.

    Most of the problems arise from the products people set their focus on!

    If you want to find a unique supplier, I would suggest you start looking offline. That is where all the suppliers, and new products are hidden from online view.
    Don't forget, if it's not online yet, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There has to be all sorts of suppliers and creative new cool items that are not yet being marketed online, the real secret is locating them.

    Take a look through a local craft market for example, I am willing to wager that you will find hand made items not available online. Who knows, that unique product could be the next big niche online market, and you would have access to the only supplier.

    The right market IS very important but I'm not really arguing that, so you have a good point.

    But like I said before, there are millions of people selling the same things anyway so why not share the wealth with Salehoo members. I've spent years looking for suppliers to and found nothing so it's not even that i haven't put the time in. It's just annoying that no one wants to help. Why even say you have a source if your not going to sahe it with us? It seems more like gloating to me. Everyone on Salehoo is here for the same reason so why even come here if it's not to share suppliers. It's not like the Salehoo site helps at all, but that doesn't mean the forums can't help

    The problem is always going to be that it is almost impossible to find anything that will have any margin left in it to make it viable to sell on ebay these days, so when someone does come across something they tend to guard it very tightly.

    The last thing they want to do is have someone else start selling it and eating into their profit.

    It doesn't mean that they can't help in other ways.

    What sort of products have you been looking to sell, and what sort of suppliers have you been looking to source through?

    I have to agree with all points being made, finding a supplier is easy. There are thousands of suppliers who you could make profit from in other areas. Finding a product that you can profit from on eBay on a daily basis is the hard part. I would share my information with people if they had searched endlessly for years and found nothing as its unfair but people that just want spoon feeding need to realize that its all about hard work!

    Help me !! i have been searching the internet endlessly for around three years now without any success !! all that seems to appear are 'dodgey' looking chinese websites that are riddled with spelling mistakes giving me the impression that they are scammers. All I am looking for is a reliable and well priced electronics supplier .... is that so hard ?? ( aparentely yes !! )
    So if anyone here has any help,tips,or advice for me it would be most welcome !!

    Hi Lewis,

    I'm wondering if the problem isn't so much finding suppliers, but more the market you are looking at reselling through?

    If you are like most, then I guess you would be looking at ebay as a primary marketing avenue. If I'm right, then you will always struggle to source electronic products from wholesalers at a price where you will be able to compete on ebay, because ebay is not a retail market, so there are not many, if any, healthy retail margins on products.

    Ebay is a wholesale market place, meaning that the majority of items are already set at wholesale value, or below, and that's the same value that most wholesalers will be able to sell to you at leaving you no margin. If your not buying in serious volume from a wholesaler, then ebay would be one of the hardest markets to crack. Yikes...it would be hard enough to crack with volume wholesale purchasing!

    The other thing to remember is that electronics have a very low wholesale margin to start with, there just isn't that much fat that can be cut out of those type of products.

    Anyways, just some food for thought... : )

    i feel your pain i was very happy with my sample pack from Jimi (ppwg.com)and i have recently orderd from another co.i will let you know how it goes,i also go to auctions alot, it is hard work ,sorting lifting,cleaning items but i guess it depends on how much time you are wiling to put into it.I sell things from $1.99 -$100.i ALMOST ALWAYS DOUBLE OR TRIPLE MY money but i have not tallied the expenses agianst profits but i do make some money,i guess it depends if you are trying to make an instant fortune or just a living!Many items on ebay that you can get from wholesalers the market is already saturated with and a lot of wholesalers won't even contact you back even with a resale # if they know you are selling online.I don't have a whole lot of capital to deal with.So far autions,yard sales and goodwill have kept me busy earning a few dollars and like you i will continue to search,I would be happy selling 10 things a day for $10.tHINK OUTSIDE THE BOX OLD SELLS JUST AS WELL AS NEW AS LONG AS ITS DIFFERENT!

    this is an interesting post..if i may put in my 3 cents...you have to think outside electronics, that is a saturated market... the irony is that of all the thousands of wholesale suppliers ive known over the years, ebay is the best one! The most profit ive made off items is when i have flipped/arbitraged items that i bought from craigslist or ebay and resold on ebay or amazon! the funny thing is i would gladly give away my list of over 500 suppliers, but i am not really keen on divulging the markets that i sell in. you really have to find a niche, something that sells well enough but is not always so saturated. but the annoying thing is, even if you find a product to sell, the prices get washed down on ebay so fast, because you have so many insecure and impatient sellers competing on price. but i agree, i have been at this for years, and i am tired of all the dopey chinese replica suppliers, and the worry about customs etc...and all the legit suppliers have wholesale prices that are the same as retail prices...and liquidations are a joke...i too sometimes wish there was an angel out there who could help me find one good supplier...the only thing ive gained from all of this is a lot of debt and loneliness and the knowledge that wholesale is a myth...and now finally i have one opportunity to buy in bulk and actually make a profit, but it happens to be at a time when i have completely run out of cash. ...so in conclusion, i think ill go back to drawing...and sell my drawings on ebay?...hmm, not a bad idea...
