A lot of people say if the serial number on the case is the same as on the internals then the iPod is real and not refurbished. But where are the two serial numbers located?

The serial number should be on the back of the ipod iteself. The internal should be under system specs or something like that. When in doubt call apple customer service from there website. They will gladly help you identify a fake. Though they will probaly ask you some questions on how you obtained the product. I hate fakes so I gladly give them the information when I get fakes when I ordered original. Also the data ports can be different than on the original and the click wheel can be different. I would suggest that you get to know the real product by playing with one at best buy or another major retialer. This way you can spot a fake right off the bat. Well most of the time. lol . Sometimes they show you a real one and than send a fake. Good luck and hope this helps some.

thanks. I am getting one in the mail with a COD and want to check if its fake before I pay. If the delivery guys lets me, or doesn't see.
