Can anyone give me advice on building my own e commerce website or recommend a software package? I was thinking of frontpage.

Find a host that offers cPanel with Fantastico (I think at this point most webhosts do, but just double check before you spend the money.) Fantastico includes one-click installation of OSCommerce, ZenCart and a couple of other excellent shopping cart solutions. Can't get much easier than that.
