I got scammed. Talk about being stupid.

I got scammed last night while I was tired and trying to get some work done. I got an email from paypal saying my account was compromised and they needed me to verify my credit card information. So I clicked on the link and opened a web page and entered by log in and password to sign in. I then proceeded to enter my credit card information and submitted it. This morning when I was working I started thinking about how weird it was that they asked me to provide credit card information. So I looked at the email again and realized it wasn't from paypal, but from some scammer. So I changed my paypal account password and canceled my credit card this morning. I don't think I lost any money, but what a hassle. Just thought I'd share my story to help anyone else from making the same stupid mis-stake I made.

What a bummer. Ive got to the point that I dont even look at my emails anymore. The only info I need will come to my ebay messages or my paypal accounts directly.

Very smart though in catching your error. If you entered personal info I would ask the credit co's to add a fraud alert to your name so if anyone tries to get credit under your name, you will be contacted before the credit is approved.
