Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and PalletsIm starting to consider offering some of the deals I get to salehoo members. As most of you know I purchase products by the truckload and break them down for resale. We do pretty well from this scenario. And we have made arrangements to purchase vast quantities of pallets from a major retailers distribution center for a extremely low price.
I am considering distributing pallets to salehoo members And have been considering at which price I would sell these items to salehoo members. Most of these truckloads I have seen items such as coffee makers, dvd player, tv's, games from every console on the market my last truckload had a whole case of halo 3 for the 360. Furniture items, toys like leapad products and more. Christmas decorations and more. Each pallet has a wholesale value of around $2,500 This stuff is a mixture of customer returns. Overstocks and shelf pull products. And you will also have some unsellable products and damaged items in these pallets. Im averaging about 30% damaged or unsellable items per truckload. The more you buy the lower the risk. Just to give you an idea. Target stores and average hardgoods truckload is around $9,000 plus shipping. I will be able to offer a truckload 24 pallets with an average wholesale value of $25.000 to $30,000 for $7200 and this will include shipping. And 12 pallets loads for $3650 Shipping included in this deal. But just to let you know there is a risk in every purchase. I will not cherry pick any pallet. My wish is to move this product fast. I can arrange a better price with the retailer if I can move the stock quickly. This is just an idea on the books at the moment but Im looking for member feedback to see if I want to put more money into buying multiple truckloads from a retailer. Jimmy

Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipallets This sounds like a fantastic idea. If I were in the USA rather than in Australia, I'd be up for it. Buying a truckload or multipallets would obviously be the best way to get product at the lowest price. I suppose shipping to Australia would be out of the question because of the added expense. :(
Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipalletsI would def be interested in buying some off of you. I just recently did my first big order of ipods and am waiting for them to come in. I have been on ebay for years. Would we pay through Google Checkout or dont you use your own merchant service?
Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipalletsIm not exactly sure yet how I would handle payment. My merchant account is not set up for very large payments. I would probably do bank transfer as its a faster payment method. Its the same way I pay for my truckloads. And I dont have to wait 4 days for payment clearance like a merchant account. Plus the merchant company would tear me a new one in fees on a very large payment of around 7k.
Right now this is just an idea. I of course need to clear some extra space to hold multiple truckloads of goods in my warehouse. One good thing is I am located in the Midwest. Meaning I can ship coast to coast for much less then lets say a Florida liquidator selling to a buyer in California. I mainly brought this up because I'm getting a large amount of people asking me where they can get multiple pallets cheap. I buy my stuff pretty cheap so I was thinking about it a bit yesterday and figured I can offer a service since I am in the middle of the USA and can offer a better shipping price then most. I may even be able to work out a deal with FEDEX Freight my current contractor to arrange pallet shipping. I wont go into this unless I have enough interested people. I dont want to flood my warehouse with product unless I know I can get rid of it as fast As a truckload shows up with it Jimmy

Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipalletsIm interested in buying pallets... I currently purchase pallets locally here in san diego, but im paying at least $1,000 each pallet. Its amazing what my current supplier is marking up these pallets. I'm very interested in this since i mostly sell at my local swap meets and some online on ebay. Thanks for your info.
Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipallets
Are you buying the same variety of product Eg. Misc items from basically any department of a retail store. $1,000 a pallet seems extremely high for a pallet purchase unless everything on the pallet was brand new. Jimmy

Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipallets
I specialize in clothing, but since I've only started buying pallets for about 3 months now, I'm really open to just about anything. Just so you have an idea, let me run you through the type of merchandise I've bought so far from my current supplier: Khol's shelf pulls: 95% clothing New with tags 5% Misc items from candles toys etc. 400 pieces $1000 ($2.5 a piece) Macy's shelf pulls: 100% clothing New with tags 200 pieces $1000 ($5 a piece) Converse shoes (not sure what store): various models and sizes New with Box 60 pieces $1000 ($16.67 a piece) Im about 99% confident that all his stuff is cherry picked since his pallets are never shrink wrapped, boxes always open and his merchandise has about 1% damaged or unsellable items. I've asked him where he gets his merchandise from, but his response was that it was too far, and that he only makes about a quarter profit per item, which i know is total B.S. Im convinced that his prices are inflated due to the high demand from the people that come over from mexico to buy this merchandise to sell back in mexico. They seem to love these prices and swarm the hell out of my current supplier. Anyways, I havent been able to find a reliable replacement for my current supplier. I'm new to buying wholesale (about 3 months) and I've joined Salehoo to try and network to find a better supplier. I've mostly sold at my local flee markets but am interested in expanding more into ebay sales. I am having a hard time turning my current merchandise into any real profit, so i need help. I'm very interested in doing business with you, however I'd have to sell thru my current stock to recoup my initial investment. I expect to have this all sold by the end of Feb if all goes well. I would like to know more about what kind of merchandise your truckloads have, pictures would be great. If not I'd be willing to talk to you over the phone to get a better idea of what to expect. Thanks for your help in advance.
Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and multipalletsWell we don't generally deal with clothing items. But Im pretty Sure I know who supplies your current vendor and im certain he is making about 1 dollar per item.
What we carry is hardgoods. And they vary by the truckload. Our current loads have consisted of a huge variety of items. Ill give you a lowdown to some of the items we have recently sold off of this last trucload Actully ill just tell you what I sold today on ebay in the last 24 hours from this truckload. PROPANE TURKEY FRYER Craftman 800RPM 3x21-In Belt Sander This shows you the huge variety of items you will aquire on pallets and truckloads. With a truckload your guaranteed to profit if you can sell the load fast and keep your overhead low. With pallets its a small gamble because there is such a huge variety of items. You can get up to 150 items per pallet but you may only find 35-40 items you can sell individually on ebay. Its just based on the condition of the items tossed into the pallets. Ive seen some very nice items damaged because they were tossed into the bottom of the pallet. And larger stuff broke the items.. You will also need to make good use of tape to re-tape packages. I had some leapster pads we sold for over $50 Each on ebay come to us with the boxed damaged beyond all reason. We taped them back together and sold them very nicely. They went right up to the same price that brand new items sold. The fact that you sell at swap meets and flea markets you can probably easily sell many items that I choose not to sell. We actually hold those items to sell at yard sales over the spring and summer. We have a ton of christmas lights we also got. Close to 3 pallets full of them. Most would consider them junk but We plan to test and sort them and sell them in bulk. More then likely we will profit on all 3 pallets just because there are literally hundreds of sets between the 3 pallets. We also have a massive amount of toys we are pulling out of the pallets in a variety of conditions. most are brand new and we plan to sell them in pallet loads. We dont really care to list them individually unless they are electronic in nature. They will most likely sell very well in a bulk load. With this kind of variety you have to consider the best marketplace to sell these items. Jimmy

Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and PalletsOk I have done a little research on how much average pallet prices are for these types of items. The average price from competing liquidators is $450-$550 Per pallet. And they have a minimum order of 3 pallets. Since I have most of these pallets in my warehouse now. I can offer a price of $350 Per pallet. I will probably use freightquote.com to calculate shipping costs. Ill keep you posted when I figure out how to figure out how to get freight quotes

Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and PalletsSo you cant frieght to Australia?
Its to big isn't it? Also couild you possibly pm me for a good pallet supplier, since i have been joined up for a couple weeks and have searched for alot of things but just cant find that much of a profit. In fact my hoped are sought of fally now. Even if it isnt the best pallet supplier,is it possible for you to pm of an australian pallet supplier,or one that ships to Australia?Im sure it wont interfere with your selling profits since Australia is far away from america :D
Re: Anyone interested in purchases of truckload and PalletsI dont think it would be economically feasible to ship a pallet of this kind of merchandise that great of a distance. I however will make arrangements to buyers that want truckloads to ship container loads via cargo container to foreign ports. I will charge the same price for the load but shipping will be extra. Shipping by cargo container is much cheaper then shipping via Air. That is the way many buisness outside get their imports from the US.
